Here is a city goose that used to hiss at me when I walked to work.

I got this weird guy at a zoo. These strange birds were quite tame.

These red breasted mergancers are on the Chicago river every winter. I've seen them pull fush out of the river then fight over them furiously. Sometimes the fish is able to escape.

In the boonies along the Illinois river there are plenty of bald eagles fishing during winter.

Here are some really tame hooded mergancers looking for a free handout.

And for once a tameish wood duck. Most wood ducks are super skittish even with a zoom lens.

Thanks again @ackhoo :-)

The mergansers are back here lately. Just passing through no doubt looking for somewhere warmer. That second shot is cool. Looks like the feathers are arranged like an old pompadour hairdo lol

The mergancers will be gone once the rivers freeze over, then they'll be city birds in Chicago again. I have no idea what strange bird that is in the second photo. It was really tame though and had a sort of human eye. I'm surprised it didn't fly out of the building.

Oh, you're very lucky to live close to all those amazing and beautiful birds ☺️😍
