Family Outing to Dhoraji

in Family & Friends12 days ago

Family time is incredibly important and essential. I usually spend time at home with my family, and occasionally, we plan an outing for special occasions. In August, which is my birthday month, we didn’t go out for my birthday and just celebrated at home. But on August 19, while sitting around, we suddenly made a plan to go to Dhoraji.

Dhoraji is a very famous spot for refreshments. A few years ago, it had a unique atmosphere, the whole street was lined with gola ganda (shaved ice dessert) stalls. However, the authorities eventually stepped in and removed all the stalls, though some people managed to open proper shops there, and those with connections even brought their stalls back. This street has its own special charm.

I’ve shared a post about the famous gola ganda here before, but this time, we went with the family. It wasn’t our first time, we’ve been here many times before. It’s really hard to find a good spot to sit at any stall on a food street since you never know which one will be good. For me, a clean place to sit is essential, so when I found one that looked clean, we sat there. My father was in the mood to walk around and check other places, but then he agreed to sit down where I suggested.

You can see the happiness on the kids’ faces in the pictures, they had a special kind of excitement and brightness. We placed our order for chana chaat, gol gappay, and burgers.

Everything was really good high quality, tasty, and fresh. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, eating it with relish. The kids had a lot of fun too.

After finishing our food, we decided to take a walk. We kept moving forward, and then we saw this shop called Memon Bite. We sat there and ordered gola ganda and waffles, while my parents had limca.

You can see the gola ganda in the pictures, it’s very colorful and sweet. They shave the ice finely, pour different syrups over it, making it look vibrant, cold, and delicious.

Waffles are quite trendy these days, so I decided to try them. They were too sweet, and no one really liked them, but I finished mine, it was okay, just not very special.

The limca that my parents had was actually quite good, it wasn’t the ordinary kind but looked a bit unique. This was how our outing came to an end, and we headed back home. Everyone enjoyed a lot and made this day memorable with good memories.
