I was walking at the lake this morning, it was early. Tendrils of mist still lingered over the water, dew clung to the leaves and the fresh air seemed laden with moisture left over from overnight rain. There were a few cars in the carpark but I saw no one else and heard nothing but the sounds of nature which, to me, is like music.
I left my headphones at home wanting to wander undisturbed by anything but natural sounds and as I walked I rejoiced in the moment and the silence that seemed to envelope me insulating me to the passage of time and anything but my own thoughts of being deeply within the moment. My mind found stillness and a silence that I only find when with nature.
Silence is an important sound to me; is silence a sound? I'm not sure.
I believe that silence is valuable to a humans mind, body and soul, that the ability to find silence within one's mind is a great skill, and I think that silence is a creator, or at least allows our minds to create. Our thoughts are born of the silence within our minds, a place where thoughts and feelings negate the need for words and a place where much of import is understood and decided upon; it's from that place, stillness and silence, where creativity begins and it's from creativity where life can take flight.
You have no idea how important silence is for me, it's like a life force, I need it. My thoughts, my creativity are better there.
We find ourselves and we can reflect. What a nice moment you had Becca. Hug ❤️
I'm going to answer this comment with silence...

I think silence is important to people, especially with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are people that meditate and like the silence more than others. It helps them think, and internalize. I also think it helps one ground themselves and get new perspective.
Meditation is nice. I do yoga which helps me feel nice but I also meditate in my own way and find balance in it. I love nature though so I spend a lot of time there and it's a very important part of my life.

There's so much beauty attached to silence. Anyone who has fully experienced it would know better. I like silence. It is therapeutic and very good for the body and soul. It enriches the body.
Therapeutic, that's a nice way to put it and I agree. Silence is something everyone should work into their life.

Yes, it sure is!
Sitting in the "silence" of nature is the best. Especially if you can get away from the concrete and steel titans and beasts to experience it. Tinnitus is something I experience a lot of, so sometimes silence is not really silent. It can be aggravating, but on occasion my hearing cooperates and am able to enjoy the sound of nothingness or nature. Thanks for sharing.
Oh no, I'm sorry you have tinnitus, my guy has it too, years of loud bangs and stuff like that take their toll. Like you he has moments of respite though and he values them.
I hope you've been well and have had a nice week.

@becca-mac thank you, I have been well for the most part. It has been a good week so far. You and your guy have a good one too.

Thank you for your lovely message and for inquiring on how things are.
We're fine I guess, some issues with my mother and she declines little by little but we're working through it and making the most of the time we have. I told my guy what you said about the photo and he said thanks. :)
I hope you're well and life is treating you kindly.
