My mom would always say to me that whatever I do, I should not take it that I'm doing it for anyone, I should always look up to God and just be kind. That is it. The reason most people feel disappointed is that they expect to be given back what they gave and not looking up to God. Your mom is very right. We should just follow the Bible and keep doing our own, someday, God will reward us.
