I waved good-bye, but not without a catch in my throat. I can only hope that catch isn't COVID/Delta/Omnicrom. I have never worried about a scratchy throat before and am not going to be second guessing every little thing. There was so much that I have to be grateful for in the last year; so many people to be thankful for, so many wonderful moments, so much,so many. In a year that many found futile, there were some pretty good moments, some very uplifting moments from a member of my family that had been sick. So I leave last year behind, to pick up and keep running with this year.
My true love gave to me,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids-a-milking,
Seven swans-a-swimming,
Six geese-a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
And sorry I could not travel both

And having perhaps the better claim,

Though as for that the passing there

And how is our poetical Denise? Please tell me the photo of the piano keys mean that you are a musician too? When I read your posts I always whizz through to see the photos and am often puzzled. I get up in the morning and find it is night almost in a flash! Where did that day go and then without warning I look in the mirror and see a few happy laughing wrinkles and some silver hair poking through and with smile I remember that I must make the best of this life, it is too precious not to.

I have done this before, as one should from time to time. However my realist mind reminds me that phones are a two way device. Perhaps if they wanted to speak, they could call. Maybe I am just being too ornery, I swear it seems to come more naturally now than ever before lol.

The phone does work both ways. I am so bad as I have missed their phone calls too. :( It has been an amazingly full (sometimes difficult) year, too full (too much drama, angst and loss) in fact.
They still know I adore them and this is the year that I won't let that happen again. Not a resolution by any means. :)

Well that shows that there are least two honest people in the comments! I am surprised more didnt say it. I got tired of always having to be the one to initiate the conversation. If people end up making you feel like they are doing a favor to talk to you, well nobody got time for that! lol.

I think you are right! This really is always my season of discontent I call it. I get mad at myself for letting everything go to the wayside. Or putting off letters or phone calls. Sometimes, life gets busy and I push things off.

It feels impossible to give everyone you love a fair share of attention. I think we all know though that we love each other and, if it has been a year, well, the phone works both ways, right ? Not to blame, but to say.... we know.... we know....
Still, it's such a good feeling to catch up, a leisurely phone visit, filling up our love tanks with some happy communication.

2021 came with its challenges but we also had lovely, joyful moments. They make up good memories we can always fall back on... So yes, we have a lot to be thankful for. In reflection, we should focus more on them rather than the painful moments.

Thank you! You are so kind and truly sweet. It was a challenging year, but, I never miss the lessons learned. I do have much to be thankful for, firstly with staying healthy, along with my entire family.
The celebration was in keeping with the COVID restrictions, but, it was nice and there were fireworks in the neighborhood. :)

Time is flying. At least on Earth. We will not even notice, and there will be 2023, 2024, 2025, etc. At least the decades are not flying this fast. This is my third decade. I will be 30 years old on 2021.09.17.
But I know that we are not really physical, and because of this, time is actually a well crafted illusion. Just like this physical world. It feels so real, but it is not. Being born is not the start, and dying is not the end. Both are transitions. There is only the present and the eternity for all of us. So not I will be 30 years old, but the earthly physical human body, in which I currently am.
There is a phrase called NDE (Near-Death Experience). I already mentioned this a few times in various comments. The website of NDERF (Near-Death Experience Research Foundation) is the best place to start reading about this. Currently this is the largest NDE website with currently 4994 NDEs, and it is being constantly/regularly updated.
I have not had an NDE so far, but I read a lot of NDEs, and I wrote the above written statements about the time and the space based on them.
I believe that we came to the Earth by our own free will to test/experience it.
