I think people should be mature enough to filter what they consume and ignore. There are motivational speakers I hear talk, and I know that some things they say don't concern me because if I do them, I will fall. Just like the example you gave, You are okay the way you are. If it's about the physical appearance, I would understand because they are trying to build the person's self-esteem, as some people have low self-esteem, but if it's about life generally, then that statement is wrong.

That's exactly how it should be. People need to filter and properly curate the things they listen to. However, a lot of people idolize celebrities and popular people so much to the point where they take their words to be the gospel truth.
We all need to proper Curate what we listen to in the midst of all the information flying around.
