All... apologies for the intrusion once again... 😉This post on Word of the Week is an offer to take things forward for the community, to ensure that, with @scholaris withdrawing, that the contest continues, at least for the immediate future. I am hopeful that there are more of you out there who saw value in what Word of the Week brought to the community and who would be keen to take part once or twice a month if it were to be kept alive. If you have been tagged, it is because you took part in one of the WOTW contests in the past 6 months or are somebody who used to support it regularly in the past. I truly appreciate the feedback received so far but would really like to get more input from others who have not commented as yet, so that we can get an indication of how many people plan to take part going forwards under the Dreemport banner, as described in my post. This proposal to support the continuation of the contest has received the support of @scholaris and @calumam. It would really help us to finalise our approach, and the tiered grading model for determining the winners, if we had a realistic idea of numbers 🤗 May I ask if you have a moment if you could help me out here and please pop a quick comment on this post to indicate whether you are keen to take part in the next iteration of Word Of the Week or whether it is not something that you can see yourself doing. Please be honest... hehe I can take it... I am just trying to keep something that is special to me alive here... 🙏Thanks and much love to you all 💗
Wow, this is wonderful. WOTW spirit back online.. I can see that the grave has well been plotted, and the new team are up to the task.. WOTW is in safe hands again.
The only thing is how possible it will be for readers to vote appropriately, as some contestants really do not get much engagements under their contests as others. I understand that come contents might not be relatable of attention seeking enough to readers, and that should be a reason enough not to be considered for voting, but what about those contestants that has made good connects over the time and will always have more readers engaging under their contestants, and more votes, don’t you think past influence would favor those once most ?, but since there is going to be another grading system after the public votes, I am more than open to see how well it will work.
Thanks, my friend. the beauty of Dreemport is that the posts are curated by the public (anyone registered with Dreemport) and they get assigned 5 random posts by the system so they don't get to choose whose posts they curate officially for Dreemport rankings. This way you have different people reading your posts each day you submit posts to Dreemport and therefore for each contest ...and there will be people curating the following day who didn't even take part in the contest. Of course anyone who wants to have their say in the curation of the contest posts, simply needs to log in to dreemport the day after Submissions day and curate hehe. We have people coming to Dreemport brand new...from other platforms like read.cash who know nobody... and have been ranked first on debut... so I think in general any potential bias is well filtered by the system. Nothing is perfect but your article will be curated by 5 random people people each time and once we have our top 5, then thosewill be graded against the Merit grading model developed by Cal and Felix... if we are able to extend the grading down the line to cover more entries, we will...but for now...we have to feel the waters and work out what is most sustainable as we know from Cal, Felix and Nonso's experience that grading every submission takes an inordinate amount of time and is not realistically sustainable if we want the contest to be scalable. Thank you for your kind support, my friend. I think each iteration of WOTW has to take the contest forward in a way that is sustainable at the time. Our aim is to take the best bits of WOTW and retain that essence... and then make it more manageable, scalable, and sustainable. I know that Felix had mentioned some time back that he would like to be able to have more involvement from the community in deciding the winners... and I think part of that was achieved by the engagement metric that he and Cal introduced, and part of it will now be achieved by the Dreemport ranking system, where any dreemer (including contestants of WOTW) can log in the day after Contest Submissions Day, and curate the WOTW posts and effectively vote for some of their favourites through the ranking system. In this way they have a say in deciding the shortlist for the final WOTW grading... a readers' favourites so to speak. But it is great to have you onboard...watch this space !LUV !ALIVE

Well that was my optimistic side speaking. Let's get a real answer from my practical side. I can't do the grading or hosting but I will write an entry someday and maybe even make some comments on other posts. Given my track record on putting out posts these days I would say there is about a 30% chance of me writing something. If the contest gets going and I see some funny or interesting things then I may be even more inclined to get involved. Sorry to be completely honest, but I do wish the best for wotw.
