no the youngest one does it when she wants to.. the oldest one moves the moment i do. She stays very close to me and hates when I go out the door. When I'm in the kitchen with my back to her, she will jump on my shoulder to watch what I'm doing.

I want to say that you're living the life but I kinda feel like some days you get absolutely infuriated by them. But I can also sense by the way you sound that you love them.
I'd love to pictures of them. That's if you don't mind. So I can dream of when I get mine.
I've always seen dogs and cats like children who never grow up. So, yes, some days they can be infuriating. Hobo likes to start around 3am on her quest to get me out of bed. It's not uncommon for me to be up around 5am but 3 is just a tad too early.
She has a brat streak at times and can be incorrigible. One of her little tricks is to tap the edge of a bowl sitting on a nearby table until she gets my attention and then will flip it onto the floor. The deliberateness of the action indicates there is a definite thought process there.
Hobo is on the left, Tramp on the right. Hobo arrived at my door one cold October morning about 3 years ago. She was barely 2months old at the time. I also had two adult cats when I brought her in. She bonded with both of them and then they both passed away the following year within six months of each other.
It took a while for me to get the message just how anxious she was when I left the house. That prompted me to bring in Tramp who had been rescued from a feral mother at about 4 months old.
Her feral beginnings is likely a factor in her being more reticent about bonding with me. I leave her to find her space and show her kindness when she does come looking for attention.
It's nice to see Hobo and Tramp. There traits are obvious by the picture. I'm sorry about the older cats that passed on and I'm sure both Tramp and Hobo came at the right time.
This actually got me laughing. Hobo kinda reminds me of my nephew and Tramp reminds me more of myself.
I'd love to have like a Persian cat or Norwegian Forest cat or Scottish Fold or a Turkish. Have you ever had like any other breed? Which would you like?
For the most part I've had cats of mixed breed. If memory serves me correctly the Norwegian Forest cat is believed to be what the Maine Coon cats are descended from. One of the two adult cats I had when Hobo arrived was a part Maine Coon, she didn't have the size but definitely had their intelligence.
Like Hobo she always wanted to be close to where I was. I have a photo of her laying on me, on top of Hobo. She sat waiting for Hobo to move off me and when that didn't happen, she just parked herself on top of her. It was really funny.
If I was going to have a breed, I'd likely lean toward a Maine Coon. Cats will often choose you. If you're looking at a litter and one of them seems to be more inclined toward you, it's probably because it likes you.
Fawnya was a cat that I got that way. I was reaching to pick up a calico litter mate. As my hand passed over him, he hopped on my arm, ran up and nuzzled at my ear. I brought him home and found I had a very loving cat.
I didn't know this. Then again I've not had the opportunity of having one. I guess probably cos of the factors mitigating that. I think I'd get over this face and get a couple of cats.
This would really look cute. Picture pleeeeeeaaase. Once you send it I'll tell you a story of an encounter I had with a cat when I was pretty young.
It's actually a good idea to have two cats, they socialize with each other. When I was going to let Hobo be my single cat it was because I was thinking about the fact I'm not getting any younger and a cat is about a 20 year commitment.
Then I realized, she was just over a year old, another young cat was not going to change the commitment by much.
I honestly dunno how I feel about this. It kinda makes me feel a certain way.
Is it ok to have a cat that might suffer simply because they outlive me?
