Cuando falla el trabajo, ¿me preocupo o me ocupo? [ESP]/[ENG]
Saludos mis estimados amigos de hive e integrantes de la comunidad de @catarsis.
Por primera vez hago una publicación en esta comunidad y quiero referirme a un tema que afecta a muchas personas, sobretodo en mi país Venezuela: el desempleo.
No hay problema que afecte tanto, sobretodo a nosotros los hombres, como la falta de un empleo estable.

# When work fails, do I worry or do I care?
For the first time I make a publication in this community and I want to refer to an issue that affects many people, especially in my country Venezuela: unemployment.
There is no problem that affects so much, especially us men, as the lack of a stable job.

Desde pequeños fuimos criados con la mentalidad de que "el hombre es el sostén de la familia". Nos educaron para que seamos siempre el que lleve el sustento al hogar, el proveedor por excelencia.
Por esa razón cuando quedamos sin empleo y a pesar de los esfuerzos no conseguimos algún trabajo que nos permita continuar produciendo, es cuando comienzan las preocupaciones que luego se transforman en estrés y en casos extremos llega a la depresión.
Los que han leído mis publicaciones saben que me desempeño como ingeniero civil en una empresa constructora y que también he sido profesor universitario. Últimamente, el trabajo de la construcción ha ido disminuyendo y actualmente en la empresa donde laboro, se está notando que ya no están saliendo los contratos como antes, apenas estamos ejecutando obras muy pequeñas y esto ha encendido las alarmas.

An early age we were raised with the mentality that "the man is the breadwinner". We were educated to always be the breadwinner, the provider par excellence.
That is why when we become unemployed and despite our efforts we do not get a job that allows us to continue producing, that is when the worries begin and then turn into stress and in extreme cases even depression.
Those who have read my publications know that I work as a civil engineer in a construction company and that I have also been a university professor. Lately, the construction work has been decreasing and currently in the company where I work, we are noticing that contracts are no longer going out as before, we are just executing very small works and this has set off the alarms.
Hoy precisamente me informaron que los presupuestos que se han tramitado, todavía no han sido aprobados, y el temor que esto genera es que se terminen las obras que se ejecutan actualmente y que no se tenga continuidad. La situación es apremiante porque el panorama que se vislumbra no es muy favorable para que sigan aprobando contratos. Entonces, ¿qué hacer?. De ningún modo pienso quedarme de brazos cruzados esperando que me digan que ya no hay más trabajo. Debo comenzar a explorar otras alternativas para que no me tome desprevenido en caso de fallar totalmente el trabajo.

Today I was informed that the budgets that have been processed have not yet been approved, and the fear that this generates is that the works that are currently being executed will be terminated and that there will be no continuity. The situation is urgent because the outlook is not very favorable to continue approving contracts. So, what to do? There is no way I am going to sit idly by and wait for them to tell me that there is no more work. I must begin to explore other alternatives so that I am not caught off guard in the event of a total failure of the job.
Debo aclarar que la falta de empleo no afecta solamente el sector de la construcción, sino que el problema se extiende a todos los sectores productivos. No les voy a negar que siento una gran incertidumbre por la situación debido a que ya no soy un joven, pero lo fundamental en estos casos es mantener la calma. No voy a preocuparme sino a ocuparme.
No sé si es por coincidencia u otra razón, pero agosto para mí siempre ha sido un mes de cambios. En el mes de agosto me he mudado dos veces, he cambiado de trabajo y he emprendido nuevos retos. Así que en caso de quedar cesante, voy a hacerme la idea que estoy disfrutando de unas vacaciones y que voy a cambiar mis horizontes. Después de todo para iniciar una nueva etapa, primero hay que culminar la anterior.

I must clarify that the lack of employment does not only affect the construction sector, but the problem extends to all productive sectors. I will not deny that I feel great uncertainty about the situation because I am no longer a young man, but the most important thing in these cases is to remain calm. I am not going to worry but to take care.
I don't know if it is by coincidence or other reason, but August for me has always been a month of change. In the month of August I have moved twice, changed jobs and taken on new challenges. So in case I get laid off, I'm going to make myself think that I'm enjoying a vacation and that I'm going to change my horizons. After all, to start a new stage, you have to finish the previous one first.
Ya estoy haciendo los contactos necesarios para buscar alternativas en la docencia universitaria o a nivel de colegios privados, me tocará nuevamente hacer hojas de vida para presentarlas y darme a conocer.
Tengo mucha fe que pronto va a cambiar esta incómoda situación y aumentará el porcentaje de empleo en mi pais. Algo mejor está por venir, y lo importante es que no estoy solo en esto. Ya mi esposa me ha dicho que juntos saldremos adelante y con la ayuda de Dios todo saldrá bien.

Asi es amigo la situación laboral de nuestro pais tampoco es muy alentadora con los bajos sueldos que percibimos los empleados publicos, hay que buscar otras fuentes de empleos, coincido contigo que hay que ocuparse en vez de preocuparse ya que hay que tomar acción, y en cuanto a la edad esta es relativa, los nos te dan la experiencia y eso debe ser respetable, saludos y exitos en tus desiciones.

Si, el panorama que se viene no es nada fácil. Ya las empresas se están quedando con el personal mínimo necesario para ahorrar gastos porque la recesión económica amenaza contra todos. Gracias por tus buenos deseos y por comentar.
Hola @gpache entiendo perfectamente tu situación y espero que pronto puedas conseguir un nuevo empleo o que por fortuna sí aprueben los proyectos en tu actual trabajo, sin embargo la preocupación en estos casos siempre se hace presente pero creo que haces lo correcto que es ocuparte y ser precavido además me alegra mucho que tu esposa sea ese apoyo que necesitas para mantenerte positivo, espero que pronto pase esta incertidumbre y si hay cambios que sean para mejor. La verdad es que el trabajo nos da una estabilidad mental increíble, la seguridad de tener todas las necesidades básicas cubiertas con un empleo fijo es algo que todos deberíamos tener.
