Here's a detailed list of API and seed nodes with their owners. Also not a requirement, but running a seed is highly recommended. We used to have a lot of seeds (~30 of them) on the STEEM network and very few API nodes (those were very expensive back then). But developing MIRA by Steemit Inc helped reduce greatly the cost of running an API node, and now we have almost an equal number of API and seed nodes. I'd like to see at least more seeds, especially from the top20.
