I've been living outside for over a year and can fit everything I need to survive in my backpack. The key factors to consider in a bag are volume, weight, comfort and durability.

Hi cahlen,
Could you explain (or link me a video where you explained) the why of 2 kinds of Tent stakes in your list ?
The straight are light, but don't hold well in wind. They also make good "toggles".
The V hold better and allow you tie string between it and the tarp, allowing it to be lifted off the ground.

Dang man, you're kinda blowing my mind. That backpack is amazing. Even in winter you're outside? You're a beast!
Thanks for the inspiration, @cahlen! I need to update my gear!
Thanks for the tour. Osprey bags are the best! I own and use an Aether 70 for weekend fun and Talon 22 for little hikes with the dog.
Whoa, the Aether looks sweet! Maybe I'll get the 100L version someday...
The hip strap is dreamy... so comfortable. But I'm not sure it would be a tough enough bag to live out of full time.
