Geat post. Thanks for sharing. I know about white elephant gifts. Back in the early 90s, my job held a white elephant gift Christmas party. I didn't know what it was and what I was supposed to do. After finding out, I purchased a CD by Air Supply thinking it was true to the occasion.
To my surprise, that CD was the most bidded gift that night. Who would have thought. So glad though it never returned to me. But the most hilarious gift that night was a pregnancy test that ended up being the most feared gift there. No one wanted to touch it...no matter how much they sipped on the cocktails!
