Meet My Boy Red

The other day, I introduced you to Dan in a post titled Meet Dan, the Best Rooster Ever. You can read it here.

While Dan is a beautiful rooster, Red is a completely different kind of pretty.

See all the pretty colors in his feathers?

Take another look. The tail is just magnificent!

And see the interesting comb?

Here is another view of his comb and his beautiful feathers. Dan didn't like Red very much at all.

Red was one of three babies one mama hen bred out. One of them was a girl, one got eaten by a hawk, and then, there was Red, the little rooster.

Once he got old enough to crow and wanting to jump on girls, Dan was not having any of it. He chased him around all day long and Red learned to run away fast!

My husband works in Arizona on the Navajo Nation and one of his work friends wanted Red after she saw his pictures. The next time my husband came home, we put Red into a dog crate and he traveled the 2 days to Arizona. He even got to stay in a hotel! Not every rooster can say that for himself! Once there, the turkeys didn't like him too much. Good that he had learned to run away fast! But he figured out a life for himself and is now living with the dogs and eating dog food.

Red is living the rooster high life!

But he probably would prefer to live with a bunch of hens...

Hahaha, that's a great story! Hopefully the poor dude gets to finally meet up with a hen or two.

I hope so too!!!

Red is adorable. I mean... in a manly way. Thank you for sharing his pictures and story. I'm sure he is quite the character in real life!

He is very pretty and I really liked him. That is why I wanted him to have a home that is not called freezer or stew pot :)

Red is a very handsome boy! It's a nice thing he was able to find a new home.

He is a handsome dude. I was happy as well. There are some roosters, I don't mind sending them to freezer camp - but this one, I really didn't want to.

That's what I'm talking about! He looks a lot like my previously mentioned Rojo!

Who also ate dog food, when the dogs were off doing dog stuff. I'm sure Dan is a good rooster, but Red is my picture of a rooster. I'm glad he's got a good home up in the Nation. Did he have any trouble managing two time changes on the road?

hahaha - I think he was fine with the time changes. He is more tuned to the sun 😂 ☀️
