We see with our eyes
Not our hands

IMG_9554.jpg

We taste with our mouths
Not our eyes

IMG_9556 1.jpg

We fill our stomachs
Not our minds

Your mind cannot be filled
Only unsettled and blocked

IMG_9544.jpg

Hands will grasp
Eyes will desire
Stomachs will hunger

IMG_9565.jpg

Fill the stomach
tend to the body

Smile at your desires
Let them pass in and out of view

Never grasp
Settle the mind

@prydefoltz,

Smile at your desires
Let them pass in and out of view

Hive is a friggin' Temple of Taoism. I desired making a ton of money on the blockchain, and Pryde ... that desire made me smile. But like water through a sieve, my desire has long since passed in and out of view. Beaten into submission by Millennial code-writers with a pocket full of pesos and a penchant for a poem only if it's about "decentralization."

It's hard to make women weep with a theme like decentralization. Indeed, it will often get you punched in the mouth.

"Darling, I'm not seeing other women ... I'm decentralizing".

I've often wondered how Shakespeare would have faired on crypto-based social media. "To Be or Not To Be" ... $1.67 plus a penny from Tipu. I think the trick to a poet maintaining his or her sanity is, like you demonstrated in your video, the utilization of calming background music. Given my personality, I would probably require a whole retinue of lutists.

FunFact: "Lutists" used to be referred to as "Luters." As they weren't getting paid anymore than poets, they went on a rampage, stealing everything they could get their hands on. With the passage of time, the spelling changed to "looting" and "looters" as the practice and its perpetrators are called today.

We see with our eyes, not with our hands... my mother used to tell her nine kids that when we went to the store with her. Yes, back in the days when mothers took their children everywhere with them.

Poems from the Tao, the music is so compelling, moving me towards the words of wisdom. I like how they use one to teach the other.

Lovely, Pryde. It actually gives me goosebumps listening to it. Your voice lends a seductive tone, making one want to hear more.

Thank you so much, Denise. These poems gave me so much both while making them and the recordings and continue to do so. It makes me so pleased to read that they help others too. It was one of the reasons why I recorded them. Thank you, thank you:)

My pleasure, always!

There is such a beautiful sense of peace and stillness in the poetry, reflected so well in the photos. The flower blooming, only to fade, akin to desire passing in and out of view, admired in their passing. The sense of meditation is really strong, you've captured the feeling of thoughts drifting by, the body sated, the mind able to settle with a sense of peace. It really comes to life in the recording, especially with the music.

Thank you, letalis:) This was a lovely comment. I really appreciate it:)

Poetry fills the void, short stories spoken, meaningful!

Enjoyed the reading, calming with relaxing sound.

Thanks so much, Joan. I really appreciate the time you took to comment:)

There's a pop song here part of which roughly translates as...

Feel the bells
Watch the wind, for a moment at least
Listen to the stars

Nyce ... who is it buy. Reminds me of James.

Alternative Rock band, actually, called P.I.F. The lyrics are in Bulgarian. They might be inspired by some classic English or other poetry, I don't know.

poetry let us express our emotions from short words. It's hard to understand but it's nice when you want to feel it.

Nice..

That's great. Thank you:)

Hands will grasp
Eyes will desire
Stomachs will hunger

And in covid times we want all to be normal again

Yes ... maybe a bit better than normal. More peace and beauty:)

I enjoyed reading this. Listening to the video made me feel so relaxed. Thanks for this great share! Stay safe always

I like hearing that:) Thank you, sgbonus

Very beautiful photographs of those beautiful flowers of nature

Thank you, Carolina:)

Oh. I like that. I have no ability towards poetry at all, but I sure do like some, and this fits that category!

Lovely photographs, too. Daffodils are incredibly exotic where I live, and I used to love them so in the spring.

Thank you!

Thank you, Tom. I suppose where I live we are spoiled for daffodils. They grow wild by the seashore. Where do you live?

I live in Yuma, Arizona. It never freezes here so all the fall bulb flowers don't work. Right now we have African Daisy and Desert Mallow blooming in the desert, but it's just not the same...

Beauty in its own right and some amazing skies, I bet:)

Beautiful photography; wise advice. I loved th last flowers. Amazing contrast of colors

Thank you, hlezama:)

Smile at your desires
Let them pass in and out of view

Like what you have, don't have what you like, and be sure to understand the difference.

Desires are the stuff of creation ... hard to get away totally from them, even if all you desire is contentment. But knowing when to make them pope down is key. Thank you, Victor:)

Beautiful pictures and poetry!
I so love the daffodils but alas they will not survive our winters here.

That is too bad, but I do hope you get your own beauties:) Thank you, Porters:)

These lines are filled the wisdom that we have not grasped yet! We`re far from it. Loved listening to the poem. The music and your voice had a soothing, relaxing effect.

True enough, Lyme. Though sometimes for a moment or two I feel I am there. Those are good times. Thanks so much for your visit and kind words:)

Beautiful poetry, photography AND I just loved listening to it, beautifully spoken and calming music, much needed at these stressful times, thank you so much!
