Me doing the rain dance this past weeks with some friends and neighbors.
This season started really well, very promising.
by early October we already had some good amounts of precipitations registered and evenly spaced between one spell and another.
then, it just stopped.
previously, the soil was so dry that not much even flowed on the surface. every drop was absorbed and we were nowhere near saturation.
we´ve been there before. we´ve seen it all.
only that we got spoiled maybe, having had two very generous rainy seasons with over 800mm of rain in each.
the stuff tree establishing is made of. gold.
our normal average sits at about 600mm. you do the math.
so now, finally, it seems we will get some rain (and snow up at the serra).
Nothing to write home about, but something.
I hope the forecasters do not mess it up this time.
It is amazing how they still manage to, with all this cutting edge technology at their finger tips.
an experienced boat captain with a good old barometer seem to get way more accuracy than they do nowadays.
The sky is dark and heavy but we aren´t there yet. it is the end of the day and night sneaks in.
typically, I would wake up in the early morning hours when heavy rain falls on top of my iron sheet roof. no matter how deep I sleep, in some point there is no escape.
I love the sound of the rain on my tin top and I am filled with joy for the gift given to nature. sort of a reset, all is watered properly and taken care of. the oaks, bamboo, the nursery, the olives.
looking forward to a day indoors tomorrow, reading and looking at the falling rain.
wishing us all a peaceful weekend ❤️

Thank you, as always for the support 🙏
I'm also looking forward to rainfall, again. It's been a while, the land is dry, and the air is hot. I sort of like the dry season better, but I still look forward to the rain.
I wouldn´t mind some heat. in winter here the drier it is, the colder it gets.
as long as the night skies are clear, temperatures fall at nights and the early mornings are frosty.
the rain bring great relief in that sense.
