so if we believe the forecast, a small-scale diluge is upon us.
today it is the first in only god knows how many consecutive days of rain.
rain forecast for as far as the eyes can see..
being the first day, it actually hasn´t been that bad. while it did rain s**t loads in the early morning, it then got better and I managed to do bits and pieces outside and even went for a walk with a friend who popped by.
also, after a good day of batteries charge yesterday and the sun popping its head again today, the charge of the batteries is not yet an issue.
it does become one when days on end go by, raining non stop without sight of the sun.
it is a bit windy but being bearable as the temperature is very into the comfi zone.
here are some fun stats I like to calculate when it rains.
as I do not measure precipitation myself, I use the numbers from the forecast.
so for example, Mr. weatherman has predicted 14mm of rainfall for today.
every 1mm of rainfall over an area of 1 square meter is equal to 1 liter of water.
for that matter, the size of our farm is 2.2 Hectares (or 22000 square meters)
so we take the prediction and multiply it by the total area of the farm.
14 x 22000 = 308000 Liters of water falling on the farm today !
the results are always hugely sounding..!
this is such a good charge for our aquifers ❤️

I’m glad you are so happy about the rain. In what you are doing it is really important of course. We had too much over the year and it isn’t good for nature
