I've been listening to the "3d printing today" podcast and yesterday morning they were going over Blender and how to do some work with it. I've heard of it for years but never took the plunge into it to even attempt to use it. Now I have a reason to begin learning. I was printing out a set of drawers and wanted to change the width of the slots. I went and installed the program then opened the file in Blender and within a short time I had figured out how to start editing. I was able to save the file and then printed out 3 of the drawers later in the day which came out perfectly!
I had my wellness check appointment with my primary care which went great. I am getting a new type of topical "Zoryve" that is non steroidal and has shown extreme efficacy with eczema and rashes. I got my other scripts re-upped and then got my blood drawn for labs. I'm very curious to see my Vit d levels with my heavy supplementing. Stacey is awesome and we have a solid level of understanding that I generally know what I need and have done the research before even asking her. The appointments are always exceeding long but WELL worth the waits.
I got home and had the printer to play with a bit as I got more pieces running while getting the fireplace heating the house. Lakeside Darts is on during the day so I had that on and decided it was time to attack my skis. The bindings I have are 30 years old but are still pretty solid, but they are solid bar touring.
I picked up telemark bindings and this was the swap day. I was a bit unsure of how best to go about it but in the end it was not too hard. The most important part was to get the binding set to the boots then I lined up the heel of the old bindings with the new and made my marks to drill.
Colet on the drill bit to keep it from going too deep and I soon had the holes drilled and the bindings attached.
I'm not quite sure if I need the heel plates installed or not, I guess I will know after my first time out with them.
Then I pulled out the ski vises that I made and slapped them on the table to do the waxing and tuning. During the process I found that I DID NOT print the vises correctly. I used way too low of infill so they are WAY to weak to handle the torque I need to put on them. I will be printing them out again but with a 50% infill.
But first I had repairs to do. My right ski was a bit trashed and had some big holes to fill in. Melted the plastic onto it and scraped it smooth.
Then the wax went on both and before too long I had the edges ground and the skis were ready for adventure.
The Kraken have early games since they are on the east coast so we got a nice 4:30 start time and they threw down right away. What a difference a few days makes, they kicked ass almost the entire game.
This is the drawer set I made, after the last black drawer finished. I learned some VERY important lessons while printing them. If I have a piece on the build plate that has a solid bottom I have to turn the side fan off because it blows on the edge of the model and causes the edge to lift. NOT GOOD. So I have to turn the fans on and off depending on what I am making.
1st dart 3x 20, 2nd dart 3x 20, 3rd dart.... 1.... Seriously, why can't the 3rd follow the rest?!
@stryeyz was out for the evening so I ordered the boys and I pizza from Backroads and got home with it not long into the 2nd period.
We ate and watched the game as the Kraken dominated the Islanders, except for the pair of goals in the 3rd as they tried the comeback but the empty netter clinched the win with 2 minutes left.
I got out to soak for a half hour before heading back in to get the last print going for the day.
I had printed out the case for the nozzles which works great now to have them labeled.
Today I have the honeycomb sides to keep printing for the printer which are 4 pieces per side and I have the first done now. I will get the boys to school in a bit, I have to find the wire to build the ground plane mesh antenna, wash my clothes, pickup the co-op order mid day, darts is on this morning then the Kraken play again this afternoon.

I'm curious, how much Vit D do you take a day, and how long have you been doing it? Also, is it over the counter and if so, what brand?
I get the D3 from Bulksupplements in powder form. I've been taking it daily for weeks now. In my morning jug of green tea I put a tsp or so of coconut oil then about, (very approximate each day) 1/16 tsp of D3. I use an 1/8th tsp and generally put about 1/3 to 1/2 of it in. The coco oil is the binder/carrier so the D3 is more likely to absorb well.
Thanks!
So cool to watch telemark skiers coming down a black diamond, it really is an art when it comes to skiing!👍😊
There's a lot more nuance to it than just bearing down and throwing into the turns like I can on my downhill bindings. It will take some getting used to having the heel free all the time.
Very true, I never had a nerve to try telemark skiing, but it looks impressive especially down a steep black diamond. Used to watch them at crested Butte Colorado all the time!
