What do we all think of the new communities features ? So far so good although we will need to see what the etiquette for self cross posting is with the way autovotes work. It is a pity that the author can't cross post the original post when they post it (so it shows up in multiple communities and on their blogs) without it creating multiple posts to the blockchain which can be voted on. I think it will probably evolve that way as at the moment if half your followers are just hanging out in the community and the other half look at their feed then you can't reach them all without cross posting; but will be rewarded twice and likely down voted.
A shot of mine that I took of the Washington Monument. The monument was designed in the simple shape of an ancient Egyptian obelisk, was built in honour of George Washington. Constructed between 1848 and 1884 it was the tallest structure in the world at the time of completion, until the construction of the Eiffel Tower in France in 1889. The monument however remains the world's tallest stone structure standing 554 feet 7 11/32 inches (169.046 m) tall.
It has an aluminium apex, which at the time of casting was the largest piece of aluminium in the world with Aluminium being relatively unknown having a value similar to silver. The slight change in shading of the marble at 46m (150ft) came from a halt in construction between 1854 and 1877 due to lack of funds and the civil war with construction eventually resuming from a different source of stone. National Mall, Washington DC, United States of America.
I took this shot with a Canon EOS 6D and a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II prime at ISO 100, f/22 and 1s exposure time. You can always click on my shots and see them larger.

I would LOVE to see the ability to cross post to multiple communities at once.
Otherwise, we'll see the issue continue and some people will abuse it.
A few of us were discussing this on PYPT over in The Ramble on Discord

I will check it out

On the one hand it would be a lot neater ot just link the original post. On the other hand the spawned copies makes sure you can get a payout past the seven day payout period if it gets re/discovered past that. Problem would be solved if there wasn't a payout period? XD
I think the monument looks much cooler with different coloured stone anyway ;D
Time will tell ;-)
Certainly I think if it was possible to post to up to five hashtags at once (and still is, even if you can no longer easily search hashtags) it should be possible to crosspost to a limited number of communities and your own blog at the time of posting.
I'm also interested to see what will happen to resteeming posts - at the moment you can only resteem to your own blog, which means only your followers will see it. If an author can crosspost and resteem, should curators also be able to resteem posts to a community or multiple communities so it can be seen by their subscribers?
I think both are fine so long as the original post isn't duplicated for rewards purposes and the community moderators have explicitly allowed crossposting/resteeming if such functionality should become available.

Lets see where it goes ! Seem the HF .22.2 wars will take over any development in the short term ;-)
Definitely interested to see where it goes. One thing that occurred to me was that if everyone I followed started posting to communities instead of their blogs, my friends feed would be empty! they definitely need to make some changes.
EDIT: I might be mistaken about that - I'm seeing posts in my friends feed that have been posted to a community and possibly not resteemed, interesting!
You still see the community posts of your friends in your feeds I think just not on their blog.
Yeah after a few days I see that now
Once again I'm falling behind and have no idea what cross posting is. Isn't it just like resteeming except the other person gets rewards from your hard work directly?
No its the other way; its like re-steaming except that it creates a new post to get rewarded on (about 90% of the rewards go to the original author or something like that; some to the community and some to the cossposter). You cant resteam an old post once it has vested and paid out ; so this way you can potentially keep earning from content that is good if people keep cross posting it down the track.
