All simply in herbal tea but be careful with the dosage.
I copy paste and translated some info on sage that you can discover.
Go to google or another search engine, noting its name. I like medicinal plants and that is one of them.
How to use sage?
The dried leaves are the most fragrant and can be reduced to crumbs to be infused into dishes with sauces. The fresh leaves can be fried to make sage butter that will enhance roast poultry or pasta dishes.
An aromatic plant, officinal sage, or garden sage, is a plant used in cooking and in pharmacopoeia, usually in the form of an infusion of dried sage. It is a pleasant and efficient way to consume sage, resulting in a strong, fragrant drink. Plus, this is one of the best ways to get all of the aromatic herb's health benefits.
Dosage to be observed
Sage infusions should not be taken for a long time, as it can have neurotoxic effects. Herbalists and naturopaths recommend not to exceed 3 cups per day, 10 days of treatment, and to follow them with a 3 week break.
The European Medicines Agency, meanwhile, recommends not using sage for more than 2 weeks internally and 1 week topically.
Contraindications
Consumption of sage tea is contraindicated in pregnant women and nursing mothers.
Precautions should be taken in people with epilepsy or with hormone-dependent cancer such as breast cancer.
Because of its vitamin K content which increases clotting, sage leaf should be used with caution in people on anticoagulant medication.
Side effects
An overdose of sage, in excess of 15 g per day, can cause certain unwanted effects: nausea, vomiting, hot flashes, loss of attention, dizziness, etc.
Very interesting! I’ll have to look more into this to see what effects/benefits there are to consumption, but I am with you there, I love medicinal and edible plants!
I’m in the US :)
It gets too cold for Sage here in the winter, but I only pruned the plants partially. This will be the first year they grew in place all summer long so I’m hoping maybe with deeper roots they’ll survive the cold :)
