So I thought I'd make a start in this community with Mental Health. I've been encouraged to do so by @justinparke and also @a1-shroom-spores, and a few other guys that like my videos.
Today I'm talking about Stoicism and how the pushback from the APA on this isn't healthy, and how Stoicism literally saved my life. Enjoy :)
I'm sorry this isn't the greatest of writeups -- I'm just about to go and have dinner. It'll be a better one tomorrow for sure!
I loved this. I find the idea of balance really interesting and relevant. It is one thing to say 'open up about your feelings' and another to have to function stoically because you have responsibilities you have to get on with, and things you feel responsible for, that if you collapse, things just won't work the way they need to! I guess that's the key though right - you need to be prepared to do both. And it's the same for woman really. All that talk of 'just cry' annoys me - I don't want to cry either, I want to function and get on with things right now, and I'll deal with 'feelings' when I am able and have time! Like I will, I'll get to that deep listening and acknowledgement and venting and so on, but right now I have a job to do and I really don't feel I have a choice about this! Thanks for this video - and congrats @raymondspeaks on your first #mentalhealthawareness Hive.buzz badge award. xx
You are really encouraging. I think I'm going to keep going with this :)

I watched this one yesterday. You have the right mix of humbleness, experience and positivity. I'm still struggling with camera confidence issues, but I've had a YouTube idea I need to flesh out for far too long.
Stoicism has likely held my family together through times we shouldn't have survived. I've only ever lost my cool a few times in front of the family, but it's important for someone to be a solid rock, especially in trying times.
