I learned the Spanish name here on Hive, but when I first saw lemongrass growing here in Suriname, it was at the house of a Cuban woman that spoke no English. I assumed the name might be "citronella" in Spanish, but she didn't seem to understand what I was talking about until I showed her the plant.
She cut a bit and gave it to us, but I forgot to ask the name in Spanish. The Guyanese call it "fevergrass," a very appropriate name I think.
