I love squash, I have eaten it in different ways of preparation and it is one of my favorite vegetables. This tastes best in a soup or in a salad.... But to be honest, in my country there is not so much variety of squash species and this particular one I have not seen. First time I read about the snake pumpkin, its taste is the same? curious.

Yes.
At our place there are many types of pumpkin, and all of them are very good for making vegetables, especially for making soup.
