It's been a long time I have posted in @naturalmedicine. I would like to thank @riverflows for creating this amazing challenge #gardenjournal. And I'm really happy to share my post here. I have already posted some of my vegetable garden pictures, so now I like to share my flower garden (Not flower, it's a leaf garden).
I'm not the one who maintain this small beautiful garden, it's my mother. Even if she is busy with her works she leaves a few minutes to take care of the plants every day. What I do is only watering them some days.
She keep it as hobby. She find happiness and relaxation while engaging in gardening. Once I wonder, she was in garden at night with a small shovel to pick out some worms which only show up in nights. And she has a very good knowledge about diseases and precautions to be taken.
At the beginning there were a lot of flowering plants around the house later it changed to leafy plants. It was because, once she said "beauty of flowering plant last only when there is flower. But the leafy plants are different. Their beauty remains for ever."
I live in Kerala. And here the monsoon hits really hard in the months of June and July. It's hard to protect plants from heavy rain. So we use to plant most of them in pots so we can easily change it's position.
When ever she goes shopping she brought a new plant to home. Sometimes I don't even understand the difference between the recently brought one and this one. There is a huge variety of plants available in the market today. It's a newly emerging trend over my locality. And the demand has tremendously increased while pandemic strikes and when every one shrink into houses.
Gardening is not about just planting some plants here and there. It's an art. An art of cultivation. Picking up exact plant which survive our climate, pick the one with right size of garden, choosing wide variety According to my opinion gardening is about caring and management of time.
We don't need huge or wide areas to begin a garden, we can even built it the corner of our house. All we need is passion and a little time.
