This is SOOOO wonderful. Yoga is a powerful powerful healer and you are a living testament to that. I couldn't do it without in my life. It sounds like you have been trained in some dedicated traditional lineage there which I respect enormously. You guys look so beautiful - happy yogis!!!
Looking forward to your videos!! I'll definitely practice them in Australia. I used to do Iyengar a LOT in my earlier days but tend to more freeform, intuitive home practice now and classes are often vinyasa/embodied flow/yin - all the same really as they connect me to true self and bring me into my body and ground me! But I'd love to practice Iyengar again. I do believe it gave me such a firm foundation that the lessons from there always come into whatever practice I do.
I've also done a 200 Hours (who hasn't lol) with a traditional teacher from Krishnamacyra lineage and others, and another few hundred hours in various trainings. I'd love to do a more extensive training but since I decided not to teach, I gravitate towards workshops now.
Very stoked to have you on HIVE - serious yogis so welcome.
Thank you so much. Yoga is definitely essential for my continued well-being, even though sometimes it brings up a lot of the emotional baggage. Like an energetic detox =)
I have mainly studied Iyengar but my teacher training is actually in a vinyasa style which actually really broadened my practice. I tend to incorporate both but you're right about Iyengar providing a really solid foundation, I think that is really important. I hope to do a teacher training in Iyengar when life allows.
I definitely feel the welcoming here, and I think it will really motivate me to learn more and Express myself more clearly and creatively. All good things for this journey, communication is super important. Now more than ever maybe...
