Good day Hivers. How's everyone? I hope everyone is well especially this rainy season.
We woke early today because of the cold weather. The rain poured all night. The kids requested something to eat. Since we have stored components for a special recipe, we decided to make some Puto Cheese.
Ingredients Needed
🥄 1 kilo cake flour
🥄 1/2 kilo white sugar
🥄 8 tablespoon baking powder
🥄 4 pieces medium-sized egg
🥄 1 can evaporated milk (360 ml)
🥄 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
🥄 4 cups water
🥄1 bar or 200 grams of butter
🥄 1 bar cheese
How to Prepare
🧀 Melt the butter in a mixing bowl. Mix slowly and gradually.
🧀 Add four (4) pieces of medium-sized egg. Then stir gradually.
🧀 Gradually add the milk and then the water. Continue mixing all the ingredients.
🧀 We now add the vanilla extract and then follow with the sugar.
🧀 With the use of a strainer, slowly put the cake flour to separate the big particles of the flour.
🧀 Then we mix all the ingredients unhurriedly for us to meet our desired consistency of the mixture.
Let's Do the Steaming
Let us now boil water into the steamer. We will cook the puto cheese on a medium-heat fire so that the cooking will be constant. It needs to be constant so it will not be overcooked.
🧀 We now put the parchment paper paper cups moulded for puto cheese. This paper has different kinds and sizes depending on what you will be cooking.
🧀 Prepare and slice the cheese as you desire, for us this size is enough.
🧀 Now pour the mixture into the silicone cups with the parchment paper or paper cups on it.
🧀 Now put your sliced cheese on top of each puto so it's more likely now has its name puto cheese 😊.
🧀 They are now properly arranged into the steamer and put into the boiling water. Let it steamed for 10 minutes and it's good to serve.
Story Time
So while waiting, let's have a mug of coffee first. Sitting in front of the table, I realized that cooking has been our kind of bonding with my sister. It was my eldest sister who had a fashion for cooking and baking. As time passed by, I learned some techniques from her. Well, I am her assistant for a long time then (lol).
We can cook and bake foods that we want as long as we have the ingredients needed. Even though there will be a lack of material, she ( my sister) can make an alternative out of the available ones.
So back to reality after 10 minutes our puto cheese is done and removed from the steamer and ready to serve. A very hot, yummy food to satisfy the cravings of the kids.

Wow, the name seems to be the same as in my country. we also call it puto and use a little pandan paste for the green color. I think it's especially delicious in winter and eaten while it's still warm. Thanks for sharing guys :)
I think our country has a lot in common like kambing right? We can create puto with different colors and different variations but the original one is the best. Our stomachs especially the kids got warmth by this food.
