Fruitful Friday Night and Saturday Noon!

My Fruitful Friday night and Saturday!

Friday Night!

Nothing beats a moment of sharing food with loved ones. On Friday night, my eldest son had his drum mock test which he was quite nervous about although the instructor did tell him to take it easy and that he was doing fine all the while. He was rather quiet when he was nervous, so yup, we accompanied him to the drum centre, stayed there for awhile, and then we went to a mamak nearby to wait for him.

Chicken Tandoori

I was actually very hungry already but it was not advised to eat my meal now because we supposed to eat together with eldest son somewhere else, as a reward or celebration that "He did it!" Nevertheless, a chicken tandoori appeared on the table. Husband went and ordered one while I was in the washroom, to be shared so that we wouldn't be too full for our family dinner later. The chicken tandoori taste was great, with herbs and spices, the only thing — the chicken was so small, barely had meat. Oh well, we should not eat too full, right? I super loved the mint dipping sauce though.

I also ordered hot tea with ginger to soothe myself.

45 minutes had passed and we went to the drum centre to pick up our eldest son. He did great, he said, although he couldn't not play properly on the bass due to his just-recovered right ankle from last week falling down and got sprained. What now? Time to feast!

The boys loved the 'satay' at Kari Kepala Ikan Restaurant, so let's!

Chicken Satay and Beef Satay

Satay is grilled meat on sticks, the usually three pieces with the arrangement meat-fat-meat. The meat was properly marinated and grilled on top of charcoal, with good skill from the boss, the meat was super juicy and tender, and for this stall, the meat size was bigger than usual satay stall too. The peanut dipping sauce was top notch. I could say the 'satay' here was addictive. It usually came with cucumbers and raw onions. We loved to eat satay here as family dinner, like our side dish to celebrate an achievement. Satay is no longer cheap, so it isn't a food we can eat everyday.

Beef stir fry with ginger

I felt cold for that night due to tiredness, so I felt like eating something gingery. I ordered a hot tea with ginger again to be shared with husband, the boys ordered lime juice. And I also ordered this dish called stir fry beef with ginger. Oh my, so delicious and it came with generous amount of soft tender beef slices and ample amount of vegetables too. I ate this with a plate of rice. Of course, I couldn't finish it, so I shared with my husband.

The boys also got their cravings satisfied by eating their favourite cheese naan mozzarella. I didn't take photo of their food. Feeling very grateful for happy boys I had, I was engaging with them until forgot about taking the pictures of them and their food. My eldest son was talking nonstop after having relieved from all nervousness. Haha!

Saturday Lunch!

Here we were again at Aunt's place. She said she didn't see the boys for three weeks, I did not realise it was that long. So the boys gave her a hug. So sweet!

The eldest son being very close with her went to the kitchen to see what she cooked. She cooked for us her fried rice, loaded with lots of vegetables, fluffy fried eggs and generous amount of chicken.

She also made us dumplings soup. We always love her fat dumplings loaded with flavourful minced pork, the soup made from chicken stock was super delicious too.

My eldest son loved it a lot that he ate 9 dumplings. No worries, my Aunt always cooked 30 dumplings.

Another dish she cooked was steamed ladies fingers with tomyam sauce. So sourish and the boys couldn't take, so myself and Aunt whacked them all.

I had my tuition in the morning and hence no more tuition in the afternoon, so we did not need to rush. We got to chat more with Aunt. The boys got to play in the room for longer time.

Not sure do you feel the same, that time moves faster and faster, week in and week out. It was as though today is Monday and tomorrow will be Saturday already and without knowing, another Monday another week arrived. My Aunt and I was joking that maybe the earth moved faster now or the whole galaxy speeds up? Haha! Anyway, time passed will not be returned to us so we want to treasure every moments with loved ones and also appreciate every opportunities given unto us.

Thank you for reading my life!

That's some tasty looking food! What are ladyfingers? Is that a vegetable? In the U.S. ladyfingers is a kind of crispy, sweet baked good. It's the base for tiramisu, among other treats.

Ladies fingers are okras, the bean type of vegetables. We usually call it ladies finger, okra will be the international term if I am not mistaken. We used it a lot in our stir fry or curry dishes. :)

Haha yeah I also felt that somehow time is moving faster too 🤣

Definitely the earth spins faster. Lol.
