Buenas noches queridos amigos, espero que hayan pasado un fin de semana genial... La receta que compartiré con ustedes la pueden utilizar para acompañar infinidad de platillos o para merendar de forma diferente y deliciosa.
En ésta oportunidad, disfrutarán de unos suculentos "plátanos caramelizados con canela"... Pongámonos el delantal y empecemos nuestro divertido proceso.
- To make this recipe I used 3 "big and ripe" plantains. We remove the skin, the last time I prepared this recipe I cut the plantains into "small" cubes and they lost their shape a little bit, for this reason I suggest to cut them into "medium" pieces, to avoid them to break during the cooking process.
- Para realizar ésta receta utilicé 3 plátanos "grandes y maduros". Extraemos la piel, la última vez que preparé ésta receta corté los plátanos en cubos "pequeños" y perdieron un poco su forma, por ésta razón les sugiero cortar en trozos "medianos", para así evitar que se rompan durante el proceso de cocción.
- Friends, in this step you will need a little bit of patience, since you will have to fry the plantains over medium heat, taking care that they brown on ALL sides, but avoiding that they acquire a crunchy texture.
- Amigos, en éste paso necesitarán un poquito de paciencia, ya que deberán sofreír los plátanos a fuego "medio", cuidando que se doren por TODOS sus lados, pero evitando que adquieran una textura crujiente.
- Next, add 3 tablespoons of sugar with 1 heaping teaspoon of cinnamon powder to a bowl. Add 3/4 cup of water along with 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence and 1 teaspoon of melted butter. Mix until well blended.
- A continuación, incorporamos a un bowl: 3 cucharadas de azúcar con 1 cucharadita colmada de canela en polvo, Agregamos 3/4 taza de agua junto con 1 cucharadita de esencia de vainilla y otra de mantequilla derretida. Mezclamos hasta integrar bien.
- When our appetizing plantains have browned completely, add the reserved mixture. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for approximately 25-30 minutes or until the mixture has reached a syrup-like consistency. It will NOT be TOO thick, but it will be a little "creamy".
- Cuando nuestros apetitosos plátanos se hayan dorado completamente, integramos la mezcla que teníamos reservada. Tapamos, cocinamos a fuego "medio-bajo", aproximadamente durante 25-30 minutos o hasta que la mezcla haya alcanzado una consistencia similar al almíbar. NO quedará TAN espesa, pero si un poco "cremosa".
- After 25 minutes of cooking, our exquisite dish is ready to plate and enjoy!
- Transcurridos 25 minutos de cocción, nuestro exquisito platillo está listo para emplatar y disfrutar!
