Papaya Flower Combination of dried anchovies and Singkkng Leaves Stir-fried Spicy Terasi
Papaya flowers are processed into very delicious spicy dishes, there are many types of dishes that can be prepared from this ingredient. One of them is this preparation that I prepared, yeah I prepared papaya flowers with a combination of dried anchovies. And also cassava leaves. The combination of these three ingredients does look very simple, but believe me this has an extraordinary taste and is worth trying at home.
Well papaya flowers, cassava leaves and also anchovies I cook like stir-fry with spicy spices a little red sauce. I deliberately made a little soup so that when enjoyed later with rice is not too dry. I prepared spicy seasoning, for those of you who are not spicy lovers I think you can replace it with non-spicy chilies. Well here I will invite you to prepare the ingredients!.
Ingredients Used
50 grams of anchovies
50 grams cassava leaves
¼ teaspoon salt
6 red chili peppers
½ part tomato
2 cloves shallots
1 clove of garlic
To taste shrimp paste
Cooking Procedure
Marinate the papaya flowers with enough salt, here I squeeze the papaya flowers and then heat water and boil the papaya flowers.
Boil until tender, then add cassava leaves and boil both.
Chop chilies, tomatoes, and also onions then blend all the spices until smooth, don't forget to add shrimp paste.
Clean the anchovy head and then fry with a little oil until crispy.
Saute the spices that have been mashed, then let it go for a while, add papaya flowers and cassava leaves that have been boiled.
Cook and then add the anchovies that have been fried, stir and season with salt then cook until cooked and soaked with spices.
Serving Suggestion
Serve on a serving plate, and enjoy with white rice as a family lunch. Well this recipe I can enjoy for 3 people at home with a standard portion because we enjoy it with white rice. Yeah the combination of this complete spicy dish does go very well with white rice because the combination of flavors makes everyone at home very happy. My mom especially loves this dish because it tastes so good on her tongue.
The combination of spicy, thunderous and bitter missing from the papaya flower makes this dish very savory. The savory comes from the shrimp paste and the aroma and flavor are quite distinctive due to the addition of the shrimp paste. I highly recommend this dish for those of you who want to enjoy it with your family.

Looks yummy! I didn't know cassava leaves are edible.
Wow, really?
You can utilize anything from cassava leaves. One more thing is that the combination of papaya flowers and cassava leaves can eliminate the bitter taste of papaya flowers so the combination of the two is spectacular!
No cassava in Eastern European lands where I am from :D But I saw many cassava plants in rural Laos.
Thais and Vietnamese (I spent several years in these countries) usually don't put the cassava root (tuber) in main dishes... So I am not that familiar with it. As I remember I tried only one dish with cassava: a dessert, boiled cassava tuber (root) with grated coconut.
Adding fresh cassava leaves to salads possible?
Yes, cassava tubers are often made as a sweet and savory dessert with coconut. But I have also made cassava soup which you can find on my blog. There are so many preparations from cassava tubers.
For cassava leaves we usually enjoy them after boiling first, not for salads served fresh.
