Hi everyone! Today I'm going to share some pictures of a hearty meal that I had recently. I struggled to finish it and left with a full tummy and my drink as well since I couldn't finish it.
We went to a restaurant called Famous Bistro Cafe located in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The restaurant has been launched quite recently and we saw it on the vlog of a famous content creator on YouTube. It seems that the restaurant is open 24/7. That means they have obtained a special license to extend the opening timing of the outlet beyond regular times.
These are all the curries and gravies available. There were so many of them from vegetable curry to non-vegetarian options such as chicken, mutton and fish curries. If we take white rice, we can add as many curries as we like. Usually there won't be extra charges for that unless we scoop in a piece of the meat like chicken or fish from the curry.
My family and I chose to try their biryani set meals as it was getting viral on social media. We all ordered one set for each and we picked chicken biryani. Once we tell the restaurant staff that we want to order biryani, they will guide us to go upstairs to a different area. The downstairs area is for all other meals.
Here's a closer look of the biryani set. It comes with a bowl of cooked basmati rice. The chicken is cooked together with the rice as it is biryani and it's inside the rice. The gravy we can mix add to make it softer is eggplant curry included in the set. There's also a little bowl of raita which is made of yoghurt and sliced onion. It is usually prepared with biryani in order to cut down the spicy taste and balance the flavours. After eating the hearty meal, we can have some bread halwa which is the dessert of the set.
This is a some mutton gravy cooked in Indian style with of spices. It was good. I'm not a fan of red meat so I didn't eat much of it.
These are all the beverages that we ordered except for my father. He got something else. The red drink is Sirap which is made using rose cordial and ice cubes. My mom ordered iced tea with lime. I ordered my usual which is iced lime water. We ordered iced drinks because we thought it's a better choice in case the meal turns out too spicy. However it was actually just right and wasn't spicy like we expected.
This is what my father ordered. It is milk coffee made of cow milk. We rarely ever get a taste of it so eating out gives a chance to choose such ingredients. He also got a glass of water because sometimes coffee burns our tongue when we drink it with spicy meals.
This is an overall picture of our table. The meal was yummy and portion was large. By the time I was done eating and drinking half of the beverage, I was shivering with my teeth chattering due to how cold it was there. The area upstairs where we had our meal was fully air conditioned and had a more reserved vibe. It was comfortable but if we order iced drinks, it gets cold. I don't mean the drink but we will feel too cold as we consume cold drinks. I suggest ordering warm drinks if you would like to try.
