Ten Random Photos

Here are ten more random photos from an archive of my old phone.

Here is a cool looking evergreen tree from the Chicago Botanic Gardens. This is in the Asia section of the gardens where various bonsai and trees from Asia are featured. Sometimes at night they have various red lanterns lit around this tree, one of these day's I'll be able to get a photo of it.

Here is my pet Chilean Rose tarantula named kokopelli. Every now and then she climbs around the cage and will get her claws caught on the top wire mesh. At first glance it looks like she's reaching for her light but in reality she just got one of her claws caught on the mesh. I have to take a little needle and carefully unhook her from the ceiling. Fortunately she has learned her lesson and no longer crawls on the ceiling.

This is a normal gloomy photo from my commute into Chicago. During winter there is lots of fog and low light making the skyscrapers look ominous. The fog also create a nice fade as they get farther in the background.

Here is a tame city pigeon standing next to some flowers that match its colors. To think all these pigeons got here because we used to eat them. Now they are all over the place and think they are humans.

Now for some ugly modern art. This is in Daley Plaza and god only knows what it is supposed to be. I'm sure the city spent millions on this fugly looking thing lol. At least the kids are turning it into a slide.

Here is a shot of a ferry in Everett Washington. I had to do some work here and ate at a seaside restaurant with a view of the ferry that moves people to different islands along the coast. They have amazing seafood there.

This is a shot from a whiteout in Illinois. It always seems to get a bit warmer during the winter when lots of snow falls like this.

Now its time for spring. This was taken right as the daffodils were blooming early in spring while the trees were still budding. It was still a bit cold outside but the sun was shining nice and bright.

Later on in spring the city of Chicago likes to plant tulips everywhere in the high tourist areas. This makes for a nice contrast against the colder looking building.

Finally some colorful fungi. This is stereum ostrea aka false turkeytail. Sometimes this stuff can be more colorful than true turkeytail and it varies quite a bit. This batch had a nice dark orange, white and green hue to it with interesting curling spirals.

That's all for now, more soon and thanks for looking :-)

Interesting variety in your album, it shows how much we have in common despite cultural, climatic and other differences. All governments spend money on ugly sculptures, pigeons are universal, and peacock tail mushrooms resemble the ones that grow here in the tropics and are called peg ears.
Until next time.Hello @sketch.and.jam , I went to see your publication curious to see who voted for a publication of more than 7 days (I don't know where the value of the vote goes) thanks anyway.

Yeah I have no idea where the value goes, perhaps it gets burned. I would like to see those mushrooms that grow in your area tag me if you ever post any photos of them.

Of course, I'll keep an eye on these rainy days. Moisture is conducive to growing on live or felled logs.

I look for wood ear during the winter on dead logs. It grows pretty reliably here.

Here in the tropics, winter is a few days with slightly lower temperatures, but they appear when the rains are more frequent, this year they may appear in the compost in my backyard.

lovely 10 random photos. class

Quite a few good ones were on my old phone dating back to when I was just getting started on steemit lol.

I also have a bunch of unpublished photos that I would like to show, but I don't see a topic to publish them. Maybe try "Random" too :)

Hmm maybe it could be called #photoroulette
