Yesterday, Trump signed the long-awaited executive order establishing a “Strategic Bitcoin Reserve” and a “US Digital Asset Stockpile”. Historic moment for Bitcoin and crypto.
As the name suggests, the “Strategic Bitcoin Reserve” will be used to manage the government-owned Bitcoin in a standardized manner.
Specifically, this concerns the Bitcoin already confiscated by US authorities, which will now be managed centrally and will no longer be sold.
The “Digital Asset Stockpile” provides for something similar, although this concerns altcoins and there is to be no fundamental disposal clause for these as there is for Bitcoin.
However, other confiscated cryptos are also to be uniformly recorded and managed by the state. I find the approach very sensible.
Incidentally, both depots are to be located in Department of the Treasury.
And the executive order also contains an interesting clause on Bitcoin. The Secretary of the Treasury and the Secretary of Commerce are to develop further strategies on how the state can expand its Bitcoin reserve without burdening the budget or taxpayers.
However, it doesn't get much more specific than that, which is why many commentators interpret the EO to mean that at the moment it is primarily about the crypto assets that have already been confiscated and which the state should now manage under one department. That actually sounds very reasonable to me. There should also be a similar policy in Germany and Austria.
What do you think of the fact that the USA is now actually creating a Bitcoin and crypto reserve?

I think its good to see, but I wonder if it will stay after Trump leaves.
It's still a bit hazy on what it will actually mean for crypto future

We need more details, it's not very clear if it will be a state bought reserve or just confiscated and keep what they have

It happens a lot with these types of games. In order to sell, you have to wait for another wave of interest.
USA is looking ahead in the bigger picture as Bitcoin will continue to rise
