My brother and I often wonder and joke about that very same thing! #smallworld
One of my favorites is the one about coffee and cocaine. Shepherds in South America noticed the goats would bounce all over the hilltops after eating the beans. That's also how they discovered cocaine!
Seems like goats are little druggies, lol!
Thank you so much! I"m humbled and honored to know my shared knowledge brings value. It makes my heart happy 😃
And I'm looking forward to more sharing, learning and growing with you @roleerob
Great story and insight @arbitrarykitten. I suppose watching the animal kingdom and gauging your next decision on what you observe makes some sense. Given that animals were designed to handle aspects of what they eat which would still be toxic to us might still present a challenge. Perhaps someone learned that goats have a digestive system similar to our own. For one thing, I have learned that goat's milk, for whatever reason, is more tolerable for human consumption than the milk of cows.
Your thought brings back to my mind my father teaching us, as we went out into the mountains with him, to watch the birds and the berries they eat. Many berries are toxic. What he told us was that we could eat what the birds ate and be okay. We never put this to the test ... 😉
I hope you and yours enjoy a wonderful day up in the great Pacific Northwest!
My grandpa taught me the same thing about birds!
Thank you kindly dear Sir, I hope your day is absolutely exquisite :)
