The outcome of this case will have permanent ramifications for journalists around the world. If Assange is killed or convicted the truth will lose and the media will become the permanent mouthpiece of the state, similar to Pravda. Julian Assange may only be one man but he represents something much bigger and more important -- the truth.
It's going to be a sad day.
