Halloween trick or treat in the village!

Due to my recent week without internet I was unable to post these images as intended after the Halloween weekend, but here they are anyway. A week late, but no less cute.

Luna was keen to be "une sorcière" for the occasion (a witch) and the outfit was great but I felt like she needed some make-up on that amazing face of hers.

Esteban also still looked too cute to be scary, especially when he smiled like that ;)

So we hit the internet in our usual way and checked out some ideas to get the juices flowing.

image.png

Am not accustomed to having a human face as my canvas but I did my best and hey presto it was done!

image.png

Her magic eye seems quite fitting in this situation. Only a sorciere could have such skills!

image.png

Some dripping vampire teeth for Esteban (with less of that smile!) and we are good to go.

image.png

Looking at him now I realise I probably could have done better with those shoes!

By this time the sound of screaming children was growing louder outside our house in the village square where everyone was collecting for the occasion. This is the view from my office.

image.png

It was quite a scene down there for the first ten mins, calmed in this moment for the sake of a group shot.

image.png

My wrigglers excitedly clutching their candy baskets here ;)

image.png

Then off around the village we went...

image.png

Luna wasn't great at keeping her sweets in the basket, swinging it around her head all the time ;) Bless her. I collected the ones she dropped and returned them to her.

image.png

Esteban was very happy to see one of his girlfriends from school (the girl in blue) and I noted how she couldn't keep her eyes off him and when her parents weren't looking she wanted to hold his hand.

image.png

There were many people in the village (who have obviously lived here for a number of years) ready and waiting for that knock on the door, with a bucket of sweets to hand out. While others seemed quite taken back by the sudden arrival of 30 dressed up children at their door, all of them demanding sweets! No question it is a super weird tradition which doesn't make a lot of sense, but it does at least provide opportunity for the parents to chat.

image.png

We don't have these kind of sweets in the house normally, so needless to say Esteban was up in the night vomiting. But will he learn his lesson? Unlikely. If I were to give them the choice today, they would gobble them all down at once. So instead they will remain in these pots and get handed out, just one or two a day. And in this way our Halloween sweets will last us long into 2022!

Love & Light everyone 🌱

The magical eye was on full display for the magical days and nights of Halloween and Samhain! Very fitting and looks great! Thanks for sharing : ))
!LUV

Really does look great right! Am pleased I caught those close-up shots. The latest recommendation from a (conventional) doctor is to wear an eye patch for a few hours a day over the normal eye. This forces the magic eye to work harder. The idea is that it will help increase her ability to move the eye (she still can't look right with it) and also improve the vision. Not so sure myself but happy to give it a go and see what happens...

Thanks for the LUV!

image.png

That's cool. Worth a try! And I'm certain you've already abundantly made her aware that it's not because there's anything the matter with her. Calling it magic is pretty awesome, I'd say! She's such a clever, unique, pretty young lady. My son is unfortunately a little bit young for her, and long distance relationships never work... but he would be lucky to end up with such a catch some day! And with such great parents and brother to care for her, increasing health and abundance are surely on the way for Luna!

By the way, that's a cute photo, and at first glance my brain wasn't en Francais so the text appeared to say BON JOVI. :P

You are welcome for the !LUV but you have my love as well. You're a good guy and raising good kids... bravo : ))

I didn't tell you Luna is a massive Bon Jovi fan?

Heheh, is that so!? What are her favourite tracks?

It's not his music she loves but his hair ;)

Supercute! A shame it needed to end in vomiting but hey, I know how it goes with little kids and sweets.

My 5.5 year old niece even admits that she's addicted to sugar. You really have to hide candy for her as she just can't stop eating it. Luckily she is a very healthy creature that plays a lot and spend most of the time outdoor.

Good to have you back on my timeline, although I can understand the peace, calm and healthy effect of some time without Internet ;<)

I believe all humans are addicted to sugar (the brain is dependent on it as its main food) so we can't blame them. As long as they are getting decent quantities of fruit to sustain that addiction they won't crave the sweets too much. That's the theory anyway ;)

The funny thing about when the internet came back on was my new reluctance to even look at the computer, let alone get back into the old routine! Amazing how fast things can change. Think I am a farmer at heart.

Sending hugs to you and your niece!

You might be right. My body keeps telling me that it isn't good for me but my hand keeps reaching for it, whenever it's around.

Note to self: I have to eat fruit instead. I usually got plenty of fruit at home, but whenever there's sugary stuff too, I choose that instead.

I totally get it. Whatever I try, I still have a love-hate relationship with screens and computers. If it wasn't for all the great friends that I had made out here and for being all-in in crypto, I might have been a screen and deviceless creative.

I just have to up my farming skills.

Big hug!

Is “love and light” a Kabbalah thing ? I remember seeing the Bergs sign off like that many years ago…

I picked up the saying when I was barefoot walking on the Camino, a long pilgrimage walk between France & Spain. Met so many people in that period I don't even remember which one of them said it. But someone did, and it stuck.

Feels like an eternity ago now, but I documented my journey in my own way if you're interested. There is no doubt in my mind, the best part of my life started here:

Also, I practice sungazing on occasion (which should be done with caution until one is experienced) and if I had to sum up how it feels to me with two words it would be these. After 30mins of gazing into infinity everything seems to fade away leaving only this behind. Love & Light. I think at our core this is all we are but like an onion we have many layers to peel back before we get to that.

You must have crossed paths with one of those ancient Sephardic/ Spanish mystics who compiled the Zohar 2000 years ago …
