My new year resolution 🤔 - LOH Community Contest #166

ENGLISH

Hello everybody, first of all I want to take this space to wish you all a happy new year, and that this 2024 is a year of success, growth and prosperity to all of you, I thank you greatly for sharing your experiences, reflections and points of view because we all get to enrich ourselves spiritually and and mentally learning a bit more every day
With this first week of the year came a new community contest and as always, Asides from answering in my mind I decided to share with you the reflection that came to me after the second question.

2️⃣ What would you do differently or start doing for yourself next year?
During the last days of 2023 I had moments of introspection, as it happens to many of us, and in between so much observation I came to my purpose for the new year, my resolution if you will.
A big part of my life has revolted around suppositions and what-ifs, comparing myself to others, feeling any of my efforts have been worthy of something. I observe others and I wonder why things seem to be easier for them... And that's where the problem is: not all of us have the same privileges, or come from the same background. So we end up hurting ourselves more and more without acknowledging the fact that we are putting effort. That it is okay to start late, or going back on our steps to get to another route.

It is okay to start again, to fail, everything is okay because it is part of the experience of being alive. What does matter is to keep going, to keep trying. That is why my new year resolution is: to stop comparing myself to others and just focus on MY process, to be more present on MY own life.
I am doing great, I'm doing a great job and my progress is huge, so it's not worthy to put other people as an example if the only one that has experience being me is... Myself.
Thank you very much for reading me once again, I send you all a big hug and my best wishes ❤️
The pictures are of my ownership.

I know that feeling of comparing others, I have been in that shoes and all I can say is that it is draining and depressing.

We all just want to be living our best life at some point and when that is not happening like it is with people and how we expected it, we begin to have questions and doubt our effort putting ourselves under a lot of pressure.

It took me a while to snap out of that and I am glad you saw the need to let go of that aspect of your life as it isn't a healthy one.

I hope and pray that this year brings you the best of life and that your wish for life comes to reality.

Thank you very much for your good wishes. Totally, even now I still have moments I can't help but think I'm way behind, but it takes time to get rid of bad habits

@danigada18, You have made a very good resolution. Comparing ourselves to others can only bring hindrances to our lives. Therefore, it is better to focus on your life without comparison. Very good; I really liked your resolution. Thank you.

Thank you for dropping by. It is certainly a terrible habit

Awesome @danigada18 the only person you need to prove is to yourself, live by your own expectations and not on someone else's!

Totally, by comparing ourselves to others the only thing we accomplish is to feel terrible and stop even trying

I have learned over my life thus far, that we are more happy if we can stop comparing ourselves to one another. We are all unique and beautiful in our own right. Whether it's looks, talents, or anything else, we are made the way we are supposed to be.

Have a blessed 2024 and enjoy! Take care!

Thank you ver much for your kind words, have a wonderful new year

You are very welcome! Take care!

Haha it's not just you, I can be very quick to ask the "what if" question, that changes this year for us 😁

I had to learn to stop and comparing to my own self a while back. It helped me realize how much I have progressed because of boy, that was depressing 😂

Happy New Year! Your reflection resonates deeply. Embracing your unique journey is a powerful resolution. Comparisons can be tough, but focusing on personal progress is key. Your honesty is inspiring, reminding us that it's okay to start anew. Wishing you continued growth and self-discovery in 2024.

Thank you dear friend, it surely takes a while to stop being so hard on ourselves and embrace the process

happy new year
