My views mingled with the cold this morning, the beach was empty as the sun climbed higher into the sky. The beach in the winter is probably my favorite time to be there, utterly peaceful, even the gull's lonely call is silenced by the wind.
Do you go to the beach in the winter? Have you noticed there is always less sand? The larger waves pull the sand offshore to the longshore sandbars, usually leaving the beach a little bit rockier. But the beauty of it is that waves take that sand back in the summer and make the beach sandy once again. Thank you, Mother Nature.
Oh, say it isn't so

It must be that winter is again in the air
Leaving space for the cold to blow in
Giving way to the distraction
Frost stuck on my windshield leaves a telltale wintery look of things to come. A little dark and so out of sorts, it was still very evident that it was trying hard to look cold. It was cold. Probably -5C by this time (23F) Save your pity for tomorrow, where snow is in the forecast, right on time to make the commute on Monday pretty taxing, but, thank you Mother Nature once again. Monday is a Federal Holiday in the US and it can snow until the cows come home. Just clean it up by Monday night.
I actually like snow, just not the nightmare it causes some days, stranding motorists and creating havoc on some of the roads that don't get their fair share of plowing. Can't I just sit here by the fireplace and enjoy the show?
From here behind the screen of the computer, I can look at it all day, not only that but, when I want to flip it over, I can change it to the beach in a flash.

It is snowing already here, Victor. You are probably getting much of the same. I am sitting by the fireplace with a cuppa. It just seemed right as it is three o'clock. I would like to be reading, but, those markets will not be getting themselves done and I think I still have 46 of them? I am way behind.
Oh, yes. The beach in the off-season is the best! You can almost be assured of having the place to yourself. I forgot how far you are. You work remotely. You could live anywhere! Even on the beach! :))

And oh yes, if I could, it would be the #vanlife for me. I even know which van I want! For now, however, #houselife it is. My dog prefers it.

Winter is the best time of the year, except we on the coast never see snow! The sea pulls further back revealing more white sand possibly on a lucky day some seashells to enjoy.
Snow looks so quietening, slowly covering the land in magic crystal droplets, each well defined unique form.
How I love the words, photography with cooling effects, yes we made the beach today being overcast with a few drops falling from above to cool us down, a wonderful walk most enjoyable.

Of course, our coast is on the Atlantic, so it can hardly wait to snow! :) Funny how our tide works opposite, but, we do get shell all year long.
The snow is exactly that. Quieting. I do love it, but, only in small amounts here and there. But, I do realize it is not a take-out restaurant, so I take what I can get.

We planned time inland to see snow on a couple of occasions, snow fell high up never in the valley below, one day we will be there at the right time hopefully.
Being on the Indian Ocean we never have snow on the coast.
Summer has had hot days to hide away with a few cooler in between, wonderful cooler days we make use of as dogs love the outing down to the beach and river to swim in.
I always thought it would be heaven to live on the Indian Ocean and snow can be found, if you are willing to travel for it.
I'll just bet your dogs love that swim!
Yes we usually travel inland in the hope of snow, normally dumps a fair amount a week after we leave, still go up with the hope of frolicking in it one day.
Dogs love the beach, just wish we could let them run free like we were allowed in earlier years. Will cross rivers and get down to the rocks possibly in winter again once the river changes direction.
Both enjoy splashing around in the river, not too keen on the sea.
Mine doesnt like the sea yoo much unless she is hunting for sand dollars under the sand in the water.
I think it's the waves, brave when you go in with them, not so much alone...., well they don't drag you there! River is great fun, very surprised looks when the sand suddenly disappears underfoot 😉
I do note less sand on the beaches in winter many don’t as they wait till summer to head to a beach

I know! I always thought it funny that sunny California has cold beaches, whereas, the beaches here are much warmer (the water) than the temperatures, almost always.
I am sitting by the fireplace, and the snow is already coming down. :) It is warm as toast, especially with a nice cuppa. The cardinals and bluejays (we finally got some bluejays back yesterday!)are all happy as we filled up all the bird feeders this morning. Even though they were half full, they eat more in a storm.
I have Thailand on the brain, but, I would take Hawaii right now! :)

At least nowadays. I also visited the shore of the Duna (Danube) river in the past. And the shore of the Velencei lake. And a few others that I do not even remember currently.
40 minutes ago the temperature was -6 °C. Currently it is -4 °C.
That is indeed bad. And it is even worse if accidents happen.

We honestly don't have a lot of that, which is good. The worst part, of course, is the Metro getting stuck or stopped or if they shut it down. Other than that, it is pretty much just pretty.

Oh, I don't envy you one jot. I am so enjoying that summer's arrived. At last. It's hot and wonderful even if sometimes uncomfortable. I'll take it over winter any day. Even when it goes over 35C as it has for the last few days!

First, I don't like the cold and would not want to spend a lot of time outside.
Second, what good is being at the beach if you cannot be outside, down at the water, with the warm breeze whipping your hair and waves lapping at your tootsies??
No... oh no.... no winter beach for me.
OH... and I forgot, suppose to start some snowy stuff here around 5 am. Hype, hype and more hype. The stores are empty and people are fighting over generators. LOL !! Gotta luv it ! Sure we could get a bleezard, but we also could just get a dusting. "Those people" don't really know. The last time there was supposed to be such a bad hurricane that we were all supposed to blow away, only a couple days of very hard rain and some wind and when it was done, we were all still here ! Thankfully of course but..... they had people buying 6 months worth or non perishable provisions. ha ha....
I ain't afraid of no snow ! (famous last words?)
Me neither, but I still go out for a good walk to see the snowy and frozen environment. The beautiful sight is well compensating for the cold temperature.

Ha! Isn't that the truth! They have no clue, so they make up a good story. Several times two years ago, the government shut down for the big one!! Oh yeah! Twenty-four inches of snow. Not even a dusting and all the workers, home. Twice that year. Now they don't call it early.
I'm a New Englander. We love the winter beach.

I really enjoyed this snowfall. I enjoy them to the fullest because the snow is so brief. I love it when it's in that powdery state, when it's fresh. After taking countless numbers of pictures and videos, I had to sit on my couch by the window and keep watching it.
I get scared when I see such a foggy environment. Although the environment looks beautiful. Survival in such a climate seems really difficult.
