Have you been lucky enough to live a vacation from a different religion or culture than yours?

If so, let us know! If not, which one would you choose to experiment with?

Hello everyone, happy to be here, and to be able to share this experience with you. The weekly questions of this contest make us transport back in time, and I like that because despite my age, I have lived through beautiful Christmas times.

The experience of a few Christmases (3 to be specific) in the gospel, taught me many beautiful things, but for me it was a shock, since my parents, there was a time that they attended a Christian church, and overnight they set aside many of the family customs and traditions. I was barely a child but that marked my childhood a bit. Now in this time, we return to the Christmases with which I grew up and the traditional celebrations of the family.

Since 2016 we stopped traveling to celebrate Christmas with the family. My maternal grandmother and my paternal grandfather passed away that same year and the truth is that it was very hard for my parents, many things have changed since then. All these experiences brought us closer together, and I began to appreciate everything around me more, I began to e a to have dream , and I hope I can achieve it, and is to spend Christmas in a city where there is snow.

I would like to go to New York at Christmas and be able to enjoy a little of its culture and traditions.

Do you regularly support other posts in the community?

I'm really new to this community, but I've been reading the posts and I loved the proposal by @Kaerpediem, her experience at a Greek wedding was great, I think it is always good to be able to live and experiment with other people of other nationalities, their cultures and traditions are fables. Some time ago I saw a novel and they did something like that, at the moment I said, wow because they will break so many dishes hahahaha but then I understood that when it comes to traditions, there should be no objection.
Greetings to all, I hope to continue reading, thanks to you for reading me.I cordially invite @ vicmito74 to participate in this contest. Good luck to everyone.

Enjoy your new memories in a city where it snows, hold the old memories close, always knowing they were great times when everyone was together still.

Time changes everything, situations change, we grow in different directions, never alters how we feel when remembering our past.

I'm sorry that things changed for you and your family with the passing of your grandparents.

Maybe there will be new traditions that will develop moving forward ;D

Hey, snow is also on my bucket list. In this lifetime, I want to touch and see real snow, not the fake ones they have at theme parks hehe

And yes, we broke plates, it was loud and messy and an experience.
We bought the cheapest plates from Ikea too and we ended up not breaking everything :D

Thank you, I send you a hug. Life goes on for the survivors. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas in the snow! hahahahaha a miracle can happen and suddenly you are in a beautiful and cold place.

We don't have a choice when things changed suddenly especially having to celebrate Christmas with grannies but because they die, it becomes something strange again. I hope this Christmas brings sweet memories for you and your parents. Sorry about your late grandparents too.

Hello, thank you very much, I hope you can also enjoy some nice parties, I send you a hug!

I can understand that the loss of close members of the Family often puts a pall over the family Christmas celebrations.
In my experience, the sudden loss of my father 50 days before Christmas showed how he was an important part of the Family's Christmas. Yet my brother and I came to make a decision to continue our Christmas in different way and at the same time acknowledging his vital role as our Father. It was tough times but this forced me to 'grow up.'

Thanks for posting @majoboa18 and Welcome to #ladiesofhive 🤗

Awww.. I'm sorry to hear that your Christmases are no longer the same.
If it were me, I would try to rekindle that tradition in your family.
It seems like you truly enjoyed it.
New York would be fun!
Thanks for sharing, @majoboa18.
