I have been checking weekly the ecency app as it has not been working for the longest time. I was not not able to vote, post or do nothing much other activities. But now it finally works again and I'm so glad for it as I do use mainly my phone. Please let me know if there are other mobile apps for hive!
So what's up?
So. Many. Things.
I broke up.
I moved.
I resigned.
I got a new job with terrible salary (970€ + extra for evening/weekend shifts minus taxes).
Looking for new job and it will probably have bad salary as well.
Hustling like crazy to get some extra cash.
Shitty Tinder dates, now just waiting to meet someone accidentally at street or anywhere else than Tinder.
So yeah, this is now my life I guess. But when you are at the bottom, it can only get better!
I hope you are doing better!
Omg, many things. I wish you many good things in your life!
Thank you!
Kaikkea hyvää sulle, päivät muuttuu kyllä paremmiksi. Aivan varmasti! <3
Kiitos! Tästä ei ole kuin tie ylöspäin
Good luck out there.
Thank you so much
I hope thing will be better for you!
Don't leave your job until you find a better replacement... my 2 cents input.
Thank you 😊
I hope things improve for you in every way. I was having some challenges with ecency off and on lately also. I updated the app, which seems to have fixed things somewhat.
Sometimes, endings are good in that they clear the way for new things. Still, when things end (relationships, moving, etc.), it is a loss and most people feel grief.
I met my fiancé on Craigslist. They no longer have a personals section. My point is that people meet in all sorts of ways. Maybe focus on yourself for now? Romance can sometimes show up when you least expect it.
Best of luck. I know what it is like when everything seems to be going wrong. So frustrating, but luckily, those times don't last. Things improve.
Last thought: if you don't already have one, maybe make a plan. Does that sound too obvious? Sometimes, when my life us spiraling, I don't think of the obvious thing and I am too busy keeping my head above water to make a plan such as training for a better job that is in demand.
The Plan might not be feasible for you now and you might have to change it, but it helps to have a Plan. That way, random events can happen which will mess up your Plan. If you have no Plan, that cannot happen. Joke.
But, seriously, I find life less confusing when I have a target. Even when it comes to meeting people -- brainstorm a list of ways to meet people and then experiment (safely!) The Plan in this case is your list of ways to meet people. After you brainstorm, cross out the ideas that are literally insane and try the others. Then, whether it works or not, you have something you are aiming for.
I can't believe I wrote such a long comment (really, Harlow? Is it that out of character??? Haha) I hope some of it was helpful or at least not completely irritating.
Look like the app is not showing me notifications, so many people commented and I missed it it all. Thank you for for your long input. I was basically alone the last year in the relationship, so I have spent so much time with myself and I totally exhausted for being alone. What comes ro jobs, I have to degree but the issue is that local companies do only offer low skill work for English/Finnish speakers and for that reason I was actually self-employed for the last 7 years. And it's really difficult to find permanent position as distance based worker. My life is here, I would hate to move abroad just for better salary.
I was self employed for about a decade and really liked it. I only stopped because I was not well enough to continue. I wonder why you decided to stop (you don't have to say, of course).
I think, because of the pandemic, there may be more remote work opportunities now and as time goes on. I wonder what area your training is in. Again, no need to say, but some areas are more conducive to remote work than others.
When I am well and I need money, I usually make a list of my skills. Then I consider what people locally need. I find an overlap and advertise. I call this "casting a wide net." What ends up happening is that some things I advertise result in many responses and steady work. Others end up in fewer responses. It is like a natural selection process for what the local market wants from me.
I have been surprised over the years by the success of this method.
Examples of things I personally have done over the years:
Obviously, what works for you will vary depending on your skills and the local market. You might not like this technique at all. I just mentioned it because you discussed self-employment.
!PIZZA
I was working as Executive assistant and I have made my career with start-ups and I don't want to continue to work with them as you never know what is going to happen and the last company id very soon bankrupted. I can't find local work ass Spanish people only want to employ native Spanish. Same goes to English companies, they want native English.
so I can only work with local Finnish companies who need low skill workers or start-ups who are not good employers or do work for multiple clients that is very exhausting. Companies that are based in Finland do not hire workers who do not live there as they want people to be in office. This is the puzzle I'm working with.
That's really true :) It gets better sooner or later, unless you quit :) All the best!
Thank you so much!
