You are only halfway correct. He couldn't understand what was happening. The emotionally charged situation does not allow a mind to resolve things with pragmatic solutions.

Dunno if I agree after all the discussion that ensued. What do you think about more experienced users think about the situation now then? say @eco buying HSBI votes for his countless alt accounts - would they act the same way or worse or understand why its harming hive?

Our ecosystem lives in this duality. Proof of Brain, and Proof of Relationship. Both "models" have merit. I submit to you the possibility that you are valued for the latter more than the first. This coming from what you've done for the blockchain.
There's a mix of both sides we elect to "live" by, if you will.
One side, I would argue, has more idealistic ingredients, and the other leans towards a pragmatic reality.
After all, equal outcomes is never possible nor desirable.
I suspect Eco, as a sociologist, leans heavily on that side. The relationships. I mean, would it not make sense that a body builder find muscle fascinating?
Watching from a distance. (not a single dog in the fight). All I see is two people who believe strongly they are doing what's best for this place.

I think there's an implementation of Basic Income that is somewhat equivalent to a "safety net" of sorts. A baseline that doesn't allow for inequality to get out of hand, and poison the well.
There is also one that is just corrupt.
I don't don't support vote buying personally either. Its like buying yourself a Trophy, a Trumpian move (he wins his tournaments you know).
But people don't share my morals. And, if I'm to persuade them. I have to find a way to speak their language.
It's not just that, that extra rewards doesn't come from trees, it's taken from everyone not doing it, just cause we can't tell on a post-by-post basis doesn't mean it's not happening when 2-3m+ hp is doing it
You are correct there. But let's break it down.
