I'm happy you can see the nuance of colours. As this picture was taken in the fall, the leaves were losing their pigmentation and becoming almost translucent yellow-green like glass. It created a beautiful effect with the silvery light.
Autumn is my favorite time of year to photograph because the world to me becomes a stained-glass cathedral, for the reasons you mentioned ... this is such a fine photo!
