Why? Isn't that a utopia? If humanity achieves an energy production and consumption efficiency of 99.99%, can we already consider this society mature? Or did I misunderstand you?
Yes, moreover, this movie also depicts our own society (on planet Earth) and how we manage energy resources. In a way, it makes us take a look at ourselves from the outside.
There are no simple indicators for this, it depends on the priorities or the vision of the society. E.g. is security more important or freedom? Freedom of speech should be allowed in any case.
Can a mature society choose a totalitarian system of governance? Why would such a society need this kind of system? In my opinion, it doesn't make sense. A totalitarian system hinders development; it cultivates a slave mentality, and slaves are incapable of creating anything.
Perhaps a society that treats its least privileged with the same dignity and respect as its most privileged. Not talking about handouts or wealth distribution, but that a janitor doing their job and a doctor doing theirs are afforded similar treatment.
I didn’t ask for the correct answer; the question was about what you consider to be an indicator of a society's maturity, what you see as a marker of maturity. It’s a different matter if you don’t have an opinion on this or simply haven’t thought about it before.
But people learn in absolutely every country, and even isolated tribes in remote jungles also engage in learning. Can we really talk about a society's maturity in this sense?
O wow, we should in first place start with the people who have access to internet, if we can create a loving society i think we have half of the world. People need to be heard and understood, so teach the correct way the rest is gonna be easy. We all want but we lost connection.
At the first place i think people who lived the same history as me are gonna be hit the hardest as they have to rewire their brain, they believed something that was imprinted by a flawed system.. so its deffo not gonna be easy.
Secondly we created so much fake hate that the idea of educating all sides is gonna be impossible at first, but it'll flow as the rings on water, it'll expand on its own if its the truth but slow, all is slow except my head.
You’ve shared many of your thoughts, and I appreciate that, but I’m not sure we fully understood each other. Many ideas seem not fully expressed. Of course, it’s hard to do that within the limits of Snap. :)
energy generation and consumption efficiency
Why? Isn't that a utopia? If humanity achieves an energy production and consumption efficiency of 99.99%, can we already consider this society mature? Or did I misunderstand you?
It's one indicator, yea
99.99% is probably not achievable but there is lots of room to grow fro where we are
Have you seen the movie Avatar? In your opinion, was their society immature? After all, they didn’t generate or use energy in the way we do.
I have not, sorry
Also, I wouldn't compare a fictional society to ours :)
Oh, that's a good movie; it's worth watching, at least in my opinion. Especially the first part, the second one is so-so.
Yes, moreover, this movie also depicts our own society (on planet Earth) and how we manage energy resources. In a way, it makes us take a look at ourselves from the outside.
I hear it's good but never gotten around to watching it. Might add to my list

When your freedom is restricted in the name of your safety, it is, in my opinion, an indicator of an immature society.😀
maybe mature, but totalitarian
Can a mature society choose a totalitarian system of governance? Why would such a society need this kind of system? In my opinion, it doesn't make sense. A totalitarian system hinders development; it cultivates a slave mentality, and slaves are incapable of creating anything.
Very true.
Perhaps a society that treats its least privileged with the same dignity and respect as its most privileged. Not talking about handouts or wealth distribution, but that a janitor doing their job and a doctor doing theirs are afforded similar treatment.
So, genuine mutual respect in society. That's a good thought.👍
I guess there's no proper answer for this.

I think we create equilibrium by teaching, when you see the route is followed i think we can speak of maturing.

As for under educated people, the shock will be so big for them its unlikely they will be a danger. Society matures with little steps, let us lead
