Good morning snappers! I want to try something new today!
I'll ask a question which everyone should answer.
The question of the day #qotd is:
What do you do for a living?
Tell us about your job in the comments. Or if you don't have one, what you would like to do.
IT consultant, working
in sweden for a international consultant agency.
Cool! What kind of solutions are you 'selling'?
I work on software for testing communications systems. Mostly using Python for that.
Cool! Is that for testing the uptime, throughput and such?
It's for testing performance of new systems. I can't say too much about the details :)
👍
I am a senior software engineer for a RegTech company, who are based in London, with an office in Washington DC. I go into London occasionally but work remote otherwise.
Cool!
In my job as a security officer, I also deal with compliance with laws and regulations. Any specific laws and regulations you're dealing with?
I see a lot of suppliers working on DORA at the moment.
Which they already should have been compliant with by the way 😂
DORA is something our analysts talk about. To be honest, I don't get involved with that side of the business, our team build the products, the software. Although whilst testing, I do see these terms come up!
Our markets are gambling, crypto, online payments and financial.
And let me start....
I'm working as a Security Officer for a middle sized company.
Does that mean you handle the physical security of a facility for example?
It's Information Security. Although it contains some physical security aspects it's mostly about the security of digital information.
Determining the risks and making plans to mitigate the risks, improving Security Awareness among the employees, handling security incidents etc.
I'm retired from 30+ years in quality control/engineering tech/inspection. Mostly in aerospace. Jack of all trades master of none. :)
Stunning road.
