It can definitely lead to good discussion. I think using L2 tokens for Hive interactions distracts from and/or devalues Hive. Keeping the focus on Hive and its utility as the token for multiple platforms helps them ALL succeed. "A rising tide lifts all boats", if you will.
I partially agree with what you said. Everything would depend on the usability of the project within the ecosystem.
