...so, @cmplxty, I've always wondered, is that you in that picture? Either way, it's a cool avatar, and a nice challenge to draw, even in whippie form.
One of the details that jumped out at me as I tried to lay out the composition was the wide-angle lens effect. I'm not sure I had noticed that before, but when you lay down that grid, you tend to get details like this right by default.
What you'll notice here, is the painstaking effort I put in to getting the hands as detailed as possible. Hold on, let's erase the pencil to get a better look...
There we go! Not only is it clearly a hand, but so near to anatomical perfection it boggles the mind!
Once I had perfected the details of the hand, I moved on to color. I'm no colorist - Scrap's rosy pink cheeks will attest to that - but that is one of the areas in which I am hoping all this whippie business will help me improve. Although I will admit, it seems that the quality avatar reproductions will do a lot more for that than the whippies...I started coloring @dandays' more detailed rendition last night, and paying attention to detail is a lot harder than bangin' out whippies!
But, long story short, that's how you go about making a hand-drawn @cmplxty avatar!

Ok, I gotta quote Adele here: Go Easy On Me. This is another one I'd never played prior to this attempt. I pulled it off pretty good, until the end where it becomes pretty obvious that I don't know the timing/word placement.
That said, this song was a LOT of fun to play, and I definitely want to practice so I can play it and do it justice.
