What's new
- Create new community, now you can create new community easily on https://ecency.com/communities/create page. Note, it will cost 3 HIVE to create new community and just give your community new name and start gathering your audience, build immutable communities.
- Community pages, just like profile pages, communities also have their dedicated page with all relevant informations like activities happening on community and list of subscribers, posts with different filters.
- Community operations, Are you community owner, admin or mod?! We got you covered, you can edit settings, change roles within community and promote active users to different roles all from your community page.
- User communities, You can view communities you are part of in your profile page Communities tab easily as well to visit those specific communities and engage with people and posts.
- Profile pages improvements, we have made some improvements on profile pages as well so you can see your blog, posts, comments, replies, communities, points and wallets with simple, dedicated navigations.
- Navbar simplified for mobile devices.
- Copy/paste image uploads added on editor so you can upload images with ease.
- Avatar and profile image upload/change optimisations
- Markdown parsing improvements
- Code improvements and optimisation to keep application super light and fast

I see it like that too - just cant see a download link for a desktop version, .... I cant get my head around - is the desktop version ' development stopped or paused? I am still sitting on version 2.2.7 ...
Desktop version development didn't stop but it is getting completely new look and major update. Design and flow of desktop app will be same as https://ecency.com website. We are working on it as we speak, in couple weeks we will likely have update in that regard, so stay tuned. Meanwhile you can use https://ecency.com from your browser on desktop or mobile phone if you want to perform some of the new features.

--is it a mobile only version? when I enter the Download section of the site, I dont see a desktop option there, only iOs / android. what am I doing wrong?.. @good-karma
3.0.7 is web version https://ecency.com, you can access website from desktop and mobile phone and login, perform all actions you can from desktop app and mobile app, even more.
Next couple weeks we are working on desktop application update so our rebranding on desktop app could be completed.
Mobile application will receive update this week as well with more improvements.

Where's the source code for Ecency Vision? I'd like to try and backport the new features into the desktop version.
It is not open sourced yet, we are targeting sometime after hardfork to open source it as well as release mostly waited desktop app update
I'm a terrible ecency user. I have it on my phone and I actually look at it a lot but I very rarely use it other than to clear the notifications. :-(

Try our website: https://ecency.com you can basically perform anything, mobile app has its perks though, notifications better bandwidth management and few neat features. But website also works great on mobile browser and you can do more community actions.

That's great news, to see the development, but I personally don't like drop-down menu with blog/posts/etc because the latest posts are from communities, I very rare post in blog last months... it should be something like portfolio or similar or just profile with all posts ... but that's just my opinion...
Are you saying by default you prefer Posts to be selected when visiting profile? We can make that change in next update

No, we are working on new major update for desktop app which will be based on our new website, fast and light with new features. We think it will be ready in ~10 days, we will keep everyone updated.
