A Path to Pursue
The mind whispers, shouts, questions, and answers—all in a continuous flow that seems to have a life of its own. It can repeat memories, create scenarios that will never exist, and sometimes, it simply gets lost in aimless wanderings. And you see everything, hear everything, feel everything—falsely believing that you are the one going through it.
But what if, for a moment, you simply observed without identifying with it? If you noticed that these thoughts come and go like clouds, without needing to hold onto them or call them your own? Perhaps then you would realize that there is something beyond this whirlwind—the silence of who you truly are.
Exercise
Now, I want you to try something with me. Stop everything you are doing, close your eyes, and focus only on your breathing. Don’t try to control it. Don’t think about "focus." Just feel the air going in and out, breathing normally, without engaging with any thoughts. If a thought comes to you, let it go as soon as possible and return to focusing on your breath. Do this for about a minute.
All set? You completed the exercise correctly if you were able to interrupt a thought midway and return to focusing on your breath. If you couldn’t do that, keep practicing and come back to this moment when you succeed.
Did you manage? Now, notice: even when you were trying to just breathe, thoughts arose. They appeared without your choosing them. This means they are not part of you. You merely received and observed them. Curious, isn’t it? You’ve always confused what your mind says with what you yourself think.
So, if you are separate from your mind, who are you? You are not the whole of your person since thoughts come from something beyond you.
Your True Identity
What remains is that you are the consciousness of your whole being. Just the consciousness—the one who observes and acts, the screen on which your mind projects thoughts, instincts, and emotions.
Consciousness appears in moments of clarity and decides to stop speaking because it realizes that finishing the sentence would be impolite. It is present when you notice you're procrastinating and finally choose to get things done. It interrupts you when you’re feeling angry so you don’t take it out on your partner as you used to. It is there when you observe a negative thought and choose to be indifferent to it.
This state of awareness that allows for clarity is what you want to learn to keep active. The longer you maintain this state of consciousness, the more you realize that you are primarily this part of yourself that sees beyond mental chaos. You can make better use of conscious actions.
The Power of Anchoring
Through the exercise we practiced, you gain the ability to anchor yourself in the present, pushing away any anxious or negative thoughts. This practice helps stabilize emotions and prevent mental crises by grounding your consciousness in the present moment.
This is the first of many powers you gain as you develop mentally.
Continue
If you are the one who observes, acts, decides, and guides, your role is to be the diplomat between your mind, your body, and the world. So, take on this role wisely. Study yourself, understand yourself. The better you do this, the better the journey of your whole being will be. The more you embrace this role, the more freedom you gain.
To continue pursuing this path in a lighthearted way, follow this channel, look for videos on philosophy and psychology, practice the breathing exercise I suggested, and take time to question the reasons and origins of your thoughts.

Bzzt, Felipe! #hivebr

Your post was manually curated by @shiftrox.The mind is so powerful that can be a great too for peace and also a great problematic thing.
We put so much into our minds that sometimes we forget to clean it.
I practice meditation everyday in the morning and sometimes during the day.
It’s incredible how we “travel” places with memories and thoughts.
It’s important to stay present. It’s the key to peace and happiness.
Much love to you 🙏
Mindfulness, I would say, is the first tool we need to understand our own minds. It is the first door we must go through.
Much love!

This is definitely a good habit. I find myself alone in the car repeating old mental patterns. They no longer represent me but they seem to be attached to certain memories. So I have to intentionally remind myself that they're old thoughts. Focusing on my breathing is a good way to stop that pattern
one could tell you that maybe you could use some "shadow" work to discover why it is a reocurring behavior and how to neutralize it
Bzzzrrr, Felipe! Muito bem escrito! Eu vi que você compartilhou um segredo para dominar a mente e eu vou tentar aplicar! A iluminação que você descreveu é incrível, como uma neblina que se dissipou!"
