For the #SublimeSunday challenge by @c0ff33a and for #BeautifulSunday by @ace108
These are some photos from the archives of a wonderful Sunday spent on the shores of Lake Michigan near the Cana Island Lighthouse and nearby Moonlight Bay here in Wisconsin.
I used some editing effects on a few of these shots. This one of the lighthouse was created using Pxlr.
It has been so hot here the past few weeks that looking through these pictures and remembering the cool lake breezes helps!
It's often 10 degrees cooler beside the Lake during the summer.
Hope everyone has had a Beautifully Sublime weekend!

.Nic photos. I hadn't heard of that Pxlr program. That's a neat look. There's one out there that does animations, but son't ask me what it's called.
Nice dragonfly, too. Do you know what type that is, by chance? Those are fun to watch. Apparently, they are among the most efficient preditors on earth, catching their pray 95% of the time. For reference, big cats are lucky if they hit 40%. We have red and yellow ones in the garden, that were great sports about getting their photos taken.
It would be nice to be on a cool, breezy lake about now. Are you getting that hot, humid weather over there?
Thanks. I use Pixlr for most everything.
The dragonfly is a Skimmer. Maybe an 8 spotted Skimmer? I'm not very good with bug ID! I do love dragonflies though.
My son lives 2 blocks from the Lake in Chicago and I'm always amazed by the difference it makes in his weather.
It was cooler here today but I don't think it is going to stay that way. These 90+ days are too hot for me!
beautiful picture
Thank you! 😊

It looks you have also some cool summer there ☺👌👌👌
It has been hot as blazes here, with afternoon thunderstorms and plenty of rain. After the last storm I saw pictures of kids kayaking down the streets in town. 2 inches of rain from that storm.
Cool...I hope I see something like this also soon 👌😄😄🤘 here come lot rain also .. but just some 5 min.. thats all every 5h .

I used Pxlr quite a bit but don't use it much for effect.
The seagull looks lonely.
More wonderful photos Melinda. Another peaceful and beautiful selection of photos! Was that Lighthouse still working?
it is a historical site and was automated in the '40s, but still operates as a navigational aide.
During the logging boom, timber from northern Wisconsin was shipped out of the port there and transported by lake to Milwaukee where building materials were in high demand.
I love the history of these places and learning about the lighthouse keepers who lit the lights every night and kept the lenses polished and preformed daring rescues when thing went bad.
I think a lighthouse keeper would have been such an awesome job!
I agree! Have you watched 'Alone' on Netflix or on the History Channel? I really like it!
"Alone" sounds familiar but I haven't watched it, what is it?
Oh, I finally got on Amazon Prime video, what do you like watching on that, any particular series?
Alone is about people attempting to survive in the wilderness on their own. It shows how they choose to build their shelters and their strategies for getting enough food off the land. I have found it quite fascinating and I've learned a lot. Good to hear you have Amazon. I'll keep you in mind if I think of something that I think you will like.
Howdy tonight Melinda! "Alone" sounds very interesting for sure. I haven't seen it listed yet so I'll have to look it up.
