In June 2017 I went looking for blockchain projects in sectors that I thought have a chance to go far. Those sectors were smart-contracts, storage and social media. The prequel chain to hive was the obvious social media choice because it already had some end-user adoption. A huge bonus for me is that hive, unlike some of the big VC backed projects, seems to stay pretty close to the philosophy of sharing - something I took from the 1980s home computer movement. The idea that computing is an unprecendented tool for enpowering everyday people. You see similar philosophy in today's maker communities.
