I've read about how Terri got into wrestling and how the chracter Marlena was actually pitched by her to Vince. However, Vince eventually ended up claiming all the credit for it. How did she actually feel about that? Did she do anything about it?

I don't think any info about the dates were talked about in the AMA.

Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp have been so far one of the most used and aclaimed social apps for the long run, what could be able to stop the new Meta app Threads to do the same? Will be this app the best choice for microblogging user preference in a near future?

Mention 5 Web3 ecosystems based in NFTs and user data control that currently exists.

If we had to pick, our top 5 favorite NFT ecosystems right now would have to be Ethereum, Polygon, Tezos, Wax and Algorand!

At the moment there are many platforms, and in the future such decentralized environments will continue to appear. Just try to discover more information about publish0x ( https://www.publish0x.com/ ) and DeSo ( https://www.deso.com/ ) - just take a look ( https://wallet.deso.com /learn )

I discuss more than 100 different Web3 social media platforms in my book on the subject.

What's your opinion on April Fools jokes?

Like them, Dislike or are you Indifferent to them? When do you think these Jokes cross the line?

I used to absolutely love April Fool's Day when I was younger.  I would think about it through most of March... but today, I just don't have the energy to be tricked.  With so many people/companies profiting from misinformation, click-bait, etc... it's become exhausting to try to verify anything/everything, and so April Fool's now just becomes more exhausting and tedious then a normal day.

Personally I prefer jokes that confuse or delight someone, any joke that upsets someone is not cool.

Do you engage in Microblogging on Hive? Leo Threads and DBuzz are both short-form content communities for this.

Which One Do You Use and Why?

I've never actually used D.Buzz before... I've used Leo Threads a couple of times but didn't get any interaction at all so haven't really bothered with it since.  To be honest, I keep forgetting to check it, I use Peakd.com as my Hive frontend.

i would never use either. not interested.

i go on the people who run it, that's important to me.

if i have zero connection or level of trust with the people and the motives of why they built it i have difficulty using it.

guess i'm weird ;)

That's understandable, I'm too less likely to use an application if I don't have a spark that makes me interested in it. DBuzz came at the right timing for me, so I use it more than Leothreads, but "both is good" as they say.

If you're interested in the team behind DBuzz, here's a video of DBuzz's co-founder explaining Hive in a local meeting:

I generally prefer dBuzz because dBuzz has a lot of features and is a much more advanced dApp.
I've also been using dBuzz for over two years and there are a lot of people here that I talk to in the comments and have fun talking to. And I think I have very good communication with the people at dBuzz.

I've looked at Leo Threads before but thought it was too complicated. That's why I didn't use it. After this question you asked, I started to think about taking a look at Leo Threads.

LeoThreads changed from how it was last year, if you want to check it out again: https://alpha.leofinance.io/threads

I have been using both platforms and how I see them is that:

D.buzz is a great Twitter or micro blog alternative that happens to be on the Hive blockchain.

Leo threads is more of a blog alternative again on the Hive blockchain.

I personally prefer and use d.buzz because it is quick and easy to use as well as you can earn crypto for your content.

Will 'X' (the new Twitter logo/brand) mark a new beginning for Twitter?

It's hard to believe that the owner of that platform will do that in the near future - it will take a long time until they manage to offer a good application for humanity (as promised since the takeover of the platform). It was simply promoted in a rather vague way that Twitter will become a multifunctional technological tool that will be useful to everyone ~ Twitter or X, will always experience competition.

With more questions and answers popping up on Reverio, I thought I'd ask this question again. If you could alter one aspect of Reverio, what would it be?

Is the Statement "I don't like Dark Skinned People" without further context considered Hate Speech? If so, Why?

How old exactly is Hive?

HIVE is a fork from STEEM/Steemit so the community and data on the blockchain go as far back as when the Steem Blockchain first appeared, (according to Wikipedia it's in 2016,) but for the name HIVE for the fork/community it happened somewhere in early 2020.

So for someone interested in investing some money into splinterland, what would you consider to be a decent entry point and what would you advise one to purchase?

Honestly, I think there are so many potential answers to this question.

What I'd suggest is going to https://www.nftyarcade.io/ and seeing if you can play for free using someone else's cards.  You split the rewards with the owners of the cards, and you can see if you like the game or not.

If someone is looking purely as an investment and not necessarily to play the game... maybe just consider purchasing DEC on Hive-Engine and holding it.  DEC is one of the currencies in Splinterlands.  The thing is that the Splinterlands team is working hard to try and get this DEC currency back up to it's peg... and it's got about 20% to go.  With the new Land expansion, I think a lot of DEC is going to be burned so I do think there is a good chance that DEC will get back up to the price point that the team want it at.  You could make a similar argument for the SPS currency as well, except I think that might take a longer timeframe... but doesn't have a ceiling like DEC has.

It's a tough question with lots of different approaches... but I'm happy to expand on the above if you have a particular preference.

What is the best Twitter alternative ever?

I think you should choose if you want a chance to appeal to a wide audience or you prefer true ownership and earnings without investment. If the first, I would check recent Threads app by Meta. If you want the second and don't want to chase a dream to become an influencer with millions of followers, you should try D.Buzz on Hive blockchain. You can also re-post on Twitter what you post on D.Buzz - they have a button to so this.

The best alternative is Hive. You can use the threads of LEO.

You will find the alternative here in the Hive Blockchain ecosystem (Leofinance, Tribaldex, CineTV, BlockTunes, SportsTalkSocial... and many others... more will appear) - you already use them. Twitter along with the other centralized platforms will lose their audience if those characters who manage those social businesses will not try to adopt the decentralized model......at least something similar to what we all experience in this Hive Blockchain ecosystem.

Today I got this question as a reply to my threads about WOO. As I'm curious to how you guys would answer it, I'll wait some days before I post my answer ;)

Did you know that exists a song for the Hive ecosystem?

Wrestling is entertaining both for the talented athletes and sometimes the gimmicks that the creative department comes up with. What is the wackiest gimmicks you ever saw in wrestling?

Off the top of my head, mine would probably be the time when Goldust got electrocuted and had a long-term effect on him making him stutter whenever he talks. Looking back, I think stuff like those would probably not fly today but it made for some entertaining skits.

Leo threads is considered a twitter on Hive blockchain. How do you like the experience?

yes a few times it is fun

Numbers matter. How much is enough?

I'm sure there are ways of looking this up, although not sure what they are ! I tend to follow @dalz for statistical data on Hive, his posts are a treasure trove of useful and well-researched info.

It looks like Ecency has about 4000 daily authors and PeakD has about 5000, but there may be some crossover between these two sets of data, and it doesn't include all the other front ends, Dapps, and games (I can imagine Splinterlands has a few thousand daily players many of whom won't be using the social side of Hive).

But these figures make Hive a minnow compared to Web2 platforms like Facebook and Twitter, which I feel is what we should be aiming for rather than other Web3 places. After all, Web3 is still a very new concept.

As for how we get there, well I feel it's all about spreading the word, getting the logo out there and marketing ourselves. I don't think we want external investors, that's a very Web2 way of doing things and could be damaging. Investors generally only want three things; a rapid return on their investment, as much money as they can pull out in ongoing income, and control.

While Hive ill need to significantly increase capacity in the future, I reckon we could do it through carefully managed organic growth. A key part would be to increase witness rewards so that they could be spread much further down the list of witnesses. We haven't got a CEO or geographical base, but I feel that focusing on the top 20 witnesses (with the rest as backups getting occasional rewards) could be a point of vulnerability and they'd be targets for attack if anyone came after Hive in a big way.

Having (say) the top 100 witnesses being rewarded for producing a block a minute might require infrastructure changes, but could multiple capacity 5x relatively quickly. So perhaps an answer is to relate the number of top witnesses to the usage of the blockchain to provide the ability to rapidly scale (as well as defend against DDoS attacks). But sadly I'm no way technical enough to know if that's possible or how it would be done !

I think Hive is not really ready for that we do need more investors that is gonna make a difference.

Share with me how many NFTs you have collected already on the Hive protocol.

It would be fun to know how many years you have been on Hive.

its been around 5 year

Since December 2021, so about 18 months. I still feel like a complete n00b, there's so many fascinating things to explore and learn !

Since november 2021, but I don't start to be an active  user until august of 2021.

Since December 26, 2017 if you count Steem too 💪

Do you think that Hive cryptocurrency will be able to hit $5 before year 2025?

I think $5 is a reasonable expectation. Hive is one big notice away from becoming a mainstream network. Developers are continuing to develop and Leo is pushing for new members. All we need to do is reach a tipping point in size and volume.

That's hard to predict but we'd all like it to happen. If BTC enters another bull run then it may happen even sooner.

In your opinion, tell me if you think Hive is worthy than Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency.

If we talk about security, scarcity and decentralization, there is nothing better than Bitcoin.

Hive have anothers stronh points:

  • Defi
  • speed
  • 0 fees
  • social basis to earn the token from zero.

Both can coexist. But as a form of hard money Bitcoins win.

Besides Bitcoin and Hive, what is the third best cryptocurrency in existence?

Tell in your words which is the cryptographic algorithm that is used by most blockchains for generating addresses and verifying transactions.

Say which are the eight types of NFTs mostly used on Web3 and explain one of them.

Have you paid something with Hive before, what was it?

Gave a party to my friends

Tell me in your words which is the blockchain standard that allows the creation of multiple non-fungible tokens using the same contract.

There are a couple of standards that meet that criteria.

The most popular of which is the ERC-721 contract that is commonly used on Ethereum and other EVM chains. Conceived in late 2017, ERC-721 is hands down the most well-known of all token standards for creating non-fungible tokens, having already been used in billions of dollars of NFT sales. Ethereum also has the newer and more flexible ERC-1155 standard that can be used to easily create multiple types of tokens in the same contract!

For any of the Antelope chains (WAX / EOS / Telos), you can choose from the second most common NFT standard, Atomic Assets or you can get a bit adventurous and mint using the Marble standard.

In addition to EVM and Antelope, there are also many other popular NFT standards for other blockchain ecosystems.

For Tezos, there is FA 2.0.

Algorand has Algorand Standard Assets (ASA).

Kadena's official standard is Marmalade.

The Polkadot ecosystem has the RMRK NFT standards.

The Cosmos ecosystem has even recently developed a standard for interchain NFTs dubbed ICS-721!

This is just a brief overview of some of the NFT standards that might be a great match for your next project!

Wait.... there are NFTs on the Bitcoin blockchain?  I did not know that was a thing...

What's your favourite blockchain for Defi and why?

What is your favourite edition of card set in Splinterlands and why?

For me it's the Beta set.  It's the edition that I have the most cards from, and they are the cards I have the most practice with.  I really don't have many Untamed, Chaos Legion or Riftwatcher cards so I don't know them too well.  My worry is that as more and more card sets get introduced my Beta cards will become more and more underpowered.

Why is Hive not seeing the mass adoption everyone is expecting it to have?

Maybe the users themselves should be the promoters of Hive, we are in the centralized social networks, why not use them to promote Hive? it is an excellent way to attract more people. Free marketing, it's as easy as that.

Users are promoting the hive. But, we have not yet seen the adoption from the masses yet. It does not mean we should stop trying and not promote. I am trying to get the users' point of view on what should be done internally in the chain so that we can maximize the potential of mass adoption.

because the people who come and try and make a home here end up getting muscled out by those that control top level. just like in every oligarchy. it's nasty too because it's based on intelligence level and just "vibe check" -- hive will never be mass adopted because it believe it should be one kind of thing rather than many. no matter how many things plug into it, how many frontends are made, it just has no soul or culture. it's mainly MALE too so it's pretty one dimensional when it comes to heart, compassion and purpose.

I think there is still time

I think this is one of those simple questions where the answer is a lot more complex than it appears on the surface !

My feeling is that the sign-up process is a lot harder than on centralised social media. On (say) Facebook, you basically give them a name, an email address and create a password and your account is open. No messing around with keys, wallets, or any of that stuff. But on centralised social media, you're then encouraged (strongly !) to "create a profile" which means giving away lots of personal information - Hive doesn't have any of that.

Legacy social media tends to be a lot more intuitive and have better "Help" screens - one of the advantages of having centrally managed well-funded development teams. But by being developed by the community, Hive ends up with lots of fascinating dapps and a lot more depth than the legacy social media platforms.

Hive doesn't have a single "figurehead" CEO who can do the rounds on TV or other social media. Nor does Hive have a PR department who can turn up on call anytime a journalist wants an interview. My view is that this may slow us down because the legacy news media don't have someone to talk to, but the upside is that we're not linked to an eccentric billionaire's ego.

Legacy social media puts a huge amount of effort into being as addictive as possible. Hive isn't as pushy, doesn't bombard users with retention emails or try to trick people into being active - it's the responsibility of each individual user to decide how much activity they want to do. It may not work so well for user retention, but the users we keep are staying because they want to, not because they feel guilt-tripped into it.

With Hive, most users need to invest at least a little bit of cash to get started. The legacy platforms don't, because the user IS the product.

Having said all that, I feel that Hive does need to do more to avoid unnecessary complexity and to better explain how it works and what all the Dapps do. But it's relatively early days, and I feel strongly that this is a case where quality is better than quantity.

Will BItcoin hit $31K before September?

Taking into account what is happening at the moment - I honestly find it hard to believe that Bitcoin will reach that level by the fall of this year. I tip the scales towards 20 K maybe around 21 K. It will end up fluctuating around those values.

How do digital and social media influence our perception of reality and our relationships with others?

Discuss in your opinion, whether with the emergence of the Ordinal protocol, NFT technology will be less favoured in its use for digital certification and the protection of user data and information.

The actual use of Ordinals and NFT as collections will not last. In the future will be a real use cases for both (evidence of property, discount cards, access ID, etc.).

In that case, Ordinals should take the lead. Being based on Bitcoin blockchain give Ordinals an extra security and descentralization value.

Nice answer bro, cheers!

What does it mean to live a 'good life' in the context of 21st-century global society?

According to traditional media and social media, to lead a "healthy" lifestyle or to have a "Good Life" is to lead a lifestyle that is balanced between the time you spend taking care of yourself and the time you spend working or developing in some area of interest.

Greetings !

Dopamine Addiction is when you find yourself doing things you shouldn't do because they make you feel good and it feels as if you can't stop yourself. It makes you procrastinate and it damages your relationships. It's not technically an addiction (like with Drugs.)

The common way to overcome it is by enduring the urges and spending time doing more productive things. Yet, it's hard for someone with these bad habits to let go, and it's depressing when you fail at it.

Is There Any Easier Way to Get Over Dopamine Addiction?

Some people will argue for a dopamine detox - that means creating physical space, social space and time away from the negative sources of dopamine. I don't think many people can afford the resources it takes to do monk-style retreats. And, while it might help break the habits in dopamine, it doesn't establish new healthy patterns before the person returns to their normal life.
I think it's more realistic to focus that willpower on one negative behaviour at a time. Try to avoid the behaviour until you can go for 30 days without it - reset the clock with each failure. If you fail three times, then choose something easier to focus on. The next thing is trying to catch the behaviour and divert it before the dopamine hits. Punish any near-misses instantly with a diversionary behaviour - exercise is a good one, a difficult amount of press-ups and then a walk has the added bonus of distancing. This has worked for me before. And, I thank you for the reminder as I look at a few more things I want to work on.

Maybe you'll like this: https://www.npr.org/2022/03/31/1090009509/addiction-how-to-break-the-cycle-and-find-balance

Do you know who was the first Hive user on the ecosystem?

I guess that's hard to tell since HIVE is a spin off of Steem. I hope someone has the answer because I'm dying of curiosity.

I think that would be @null account not sure though just a guess

As we witness rapid advancements in AI, how might the development of advanced artificial intelligence change our perception of what it means to be human?

Do you think that with technology advantages and AI, this new revolutionary technoloy could help humanity to find a cure to COVID-19?

It is highly likely that AI will eventually be used to cure COVID-19 and other viruses, ailments and sicknesses.

Surely someone will use some form of artificial intelligence to make it easier to work in a certain field of research. Perhaps in the near future, someone in particular can explain to us what really happened regarding that Covid-19 presented at the global level. Just think about the simple fact that for a lot of human beings who are present on this earth, Covid-19 represents a manipulative form through which certain types of facts are hidden and for others possibly only a simulative exercise manifested globally only for the observation of some diverse social reactions. It is still not really known where this whole story started, which managed to cause a real global chaos. Traditional media has evolved enormously thanks to technological tools, continuing to manipulate public opinion. I don't know what really happened in other countries, but i know that in the country i belong to, during the pandemic, quite a few people died due to the incompetence of the medical staff and those authorities who continued to destroy their credibility through decision-making actions.

What are you most looking forward to on Hive?

Writing about the cryptocurrency you use the most help you know which blockchain you match better.

HIVE, of course !

I don't count HBD or BTC, because they are both ones I tend to just stack and HODL, which is different to actually using them.

There's only one other crypto I use regularly, which is LTC. With low fees and wide acceptance, it's a good way to move cryptocurrencies around - especially when it comes to buying HIVE through Blocktrades. If HIVE was more widely accepted by exchanges, or HIVE and HBD for real world transactions, I could see I'd use LTC a lot less.

I agree on your same position, I use Hive and HBD the most, I have used BNB which was the first cryptocurrency I had in my beginning, it's amazing how Hive solves a many of daily payment methods with no gas fee.

How much do you invest into cryptocurrency per month?

As you're all aware the current power down takes 13 weeks to complete fully, if you could change this, what do you think would be the ideal down time and why?

The rewards earned on this comment will go directly to the people( @tobias-g ) sharing the post on Twitter as long as they are registered with @poshtoken. Sign up at https://hiveposh.com.

I wouldn't change the power down time. First, ask why we have powerdown times?

  1. The first is to prevent stupid leverage games with vote power. Since vote power takes five days to recharge, you don't want powerdown time lower than five days.
  2. To encourage people to hold and use stake.
  3. To provide price stability via slowing the flow from staked to liquid

I think 13 weeks is a good number. It prevents people from including HP in their emergency fund calculations, while still giving reasonable access to their funds. It causes people to take to time to consider their commitment to hive before powering up and powering down. We want people to form long-term connections on hive, not treat it like a short-term transactional farm. So, yeah, keep the 13 weeks.

I think 13 weeks is just right, and the only lower number I'd accept would be 12 weeks. I wouldn't make it more than 13 weeks because we do want the Power Down to feel

As the other comments have explained, the main reason you want Power Down to take longer is to stabilize the price. If a bunch of whales wanted to get out of HIVE and liquidate all of their stakes, other users will have 13 weeks to prepare for the gradual damage to the price that would do. If the period was shorter, the damage will be faster and more severe.

I believe many Hive-engine tokens have a Power-down time of only 4 weeks, though. So that could give us data on how effective 1 month Power Down time will be when the scenario I mentioned happens in one of the tokens there.

It's important to remember our successes sometimes.

There were 365 days in 2022. I'm sure you had some great days and some bad days in it. What do you consider your best success in that year? Whether it's finance, health or relationsips related.

If you already blogged about it, share the post's link in a comment. Bonus points if HIVE played a role in that success. g

I managed to finally (due to covid restrictions) travel across the world to meet @hiddenblade.
I managed to grow my hive holdings while having a little bit of a safety net in case the bear market would last longer.
I managed to evolve and make some of my projects on hive more solid thanks to devs and curators who see the same vision as me and share the same values in most.
Probably some other things I can't recall now.

What were yours?

Wow, how far did the journey take you?

I too grew my Hive holding, and by the end of the year I started being more active on this platform. I also wrote many stories, (like I did in 2017) after a long cycle of writer-block!

Outside of HIVE, I learned to deal with my "depressed" days a bit better, and I returned to drawing. I became better at digital art.

So, yeah. It was a good year.~ !PIZZA !LUV

I completed 1 year of Hive and Hive-Engine witness running a private node for HIVE and a public node for HIVE-Engine. Learned lots, found that the community is accelarating so fast that I can't follow every game anymore, helped the ones I could with some of the challenges and finished the year with a career change.

So in 1 go, it was a massive year of achievements. Can't recall having such year in a long time... will hope for a more slow but still steady growth 2023... but if it goes crazy, I am on it too.

How are you using AI to make you more efficient in what you do? this could be work or personal projects. Which tools do you use?

i've not started yet but i intend too.

i'm litearlly in gathering mode right now, tools for the job(s) and learning better prompt usage/management/hotkeys

i think once i get a flow with it, automated, i'll be able to pass things from platform to platform really easy.

to idea > ideation > process > output

i'll be able to come up with an idea/creative and pump something out to work from. that's my intention, once it's integrated at low level into my operating system i'll be able to hot key fly between things.

Is COVID-19 really over?
