Just my personal opinion, but I'd say that bots should generally not be permitted.
It is possible that a game may allow a limited number of bots in very specific circumstances, for example if they are just automating a mundane daily task or if they are game-controlled bots generating a resource which is spread fairly among real players.
But the reason I favour a general ban is that if a game is generating income, in most cases it's a fixed or calculated pool daily split among active players. If someone was good enough at coding, half those "active players" could be bots under that one person's control. They'd scoop up 50% of the rewards, and each of the other players would earn half of what they should have.
In other online games the Web2 sort, where it's play-to-win, not play-to-earn, I have seen rules where a player can have multiple accounts provided those accounts don't help each other in any way (including passing items between them or attacking the same targets in PvP). But this doesn't work in play-to-earn because it's still one player increasing their share of the reward pool.
An interesting question will be whether AI-controlled players would count as bots. I think here, the distinction should probably be based on what happens to the rewards (the whole audit trail, not just the initial withdrawal).
